  how do people who believe a "day" of creation is a literal 24-hour day ("because the plants would have died") get around adam and eve not dying the same literal 24-hour day as eating from the tree?

  jws say that the "day" didn't equal 24 hours and that adam died within a thousand years and a day=1000 years.... but then you have the plants with no light!

  it's almost like it's made up or something!

  i can't imagine jesus shunning anyone.

  on the contrary, he went towards those who needed help the most.

  if the jw's followed jesus footsteps, they wouldn't shun.

  Jesus went out of his way to assist comfort and encourage those whome others despised. Those who did the despising were the religious people of the day they were good people and they felt ethically compelled to do so.

  They were mistaken.

  The most offensive sins in Gods sight are pride arrogance and a spirit of condemnation. The religious people in christs time said' this man receives sinners'

  when did you first realise the society wouldn't allow women to be an ms or an elder?

  i remember being seven or eight and playing dolls with an elder's daughter in her bedroom.

  my doll was meeting up with her doll at the convention after not seeing each other for a long time.

  Many churches now have even women as pastors or priests. The church I go to has a women elder but they havent seen the light on haveing a women pastor.

  We should make sure they apply the laws evenly.

  There was a conference on terror held recently in Indonesia and many Islamic and Christian leaders attended. The head muffi of Sydney if thats what he is called was not invited because of his stand on Jihad according to Alexander Downer. So these Muslim fanatics are given all opportunities. I beleive Australian people are just naive.

  We have unarmed solders in Arche helping with the relief effort and Islamic fundamentalists wanting to blow them up. This is not the free Arche movement these are genuine nut cases followers of Abu baka bashia. Barry

  Dont forget about the revival in the fourth century when Arius presbyter of Alexandria first said that only the Father is true God. Arius was supported by Eusebius of Caesarea and then the matter led to the first church council held at Nicea in 325. Barry

  Unity vs. Uniformity

  wasn't the thought that we were so unified a comforting one when you were in the congregation?

  only to realize that kicking everyone out that disagrees or forcing people to act a certain way "in the name of god and the wt" produces uniformity and not unity.. there is a difference, which of course are worlds apart.. did you notice this while in?

  as it now stands, the australian government has pledged $810 million to the tsunami relief effort.. germany is next with $674 million.. japan--$500 million.. u.s. trails in fourth place with $350 million.

  while the u.s. government could do a lot better, the private sector is not doing too badly.

  Australia has only 20 million people so on a per capita basis it is a big contribution.

  It is in our own interest to get these nations on their feet because the sooner they are up and running the sooner we supply them with goods services and in that way everyone is better off.
