BDF, We all who speak english consider the Queens english [ the english of queen Elizabeth] the correct and proper way to speak both in pronunciation and grammer and spelling of which i am not proficient.

Can't attend the footwashing,but
by Junction-Guy inwell today is footwashing sunday at my home church in kentucky.
this is always a favorite event for me.
they usually have guest preachers, special singing, and of course, dinner on the grounds.

I forgot to mention there is some dispute among SDAs when the footwashing some SDAs do it before communion and some do it after. Traditionally it was done before but if you read the bible it was donr after.

The SDAs wash feet and its allways a possibility it may turn you off if someone had disgusting feet or something. The SDAs also call it the ordinance of humility and it is done before communion.

I know of a lady just after 1975 who came to our church told us the witnesses were being encouraged at that time to go on welfare called the dole here in Australia and then go witnessing full time.
I think motherhood is so downplayed in our society that it causes people to have fewer kids or none at all and its a tradedgy.
All mothers are paid $4000 per child here in Australia and I think its a step in the right direction. I wouldnt mind if it was double that.

My disagreement with hubby on use of Jehovah's name around JW's...input
by megsmomma inok, this weekend i had a jw at my door and i sincerely gave a anti-wintess to him during which i did tell him i feel closer to jehovah than i ever have and i still believe in jehovah, just not the society.
my husband thinks i should have said "the lord" or "god" instead, because he thinks it sounds like i was being hypicritical in a way.. my take is that to sound like i knew what i was talking about, and to lessen the likliness of him turning his ears off right away, i should talk in a way he is comfortable with.. hubby thinks it is more beneficial to show you are free from their wording and say what you mean from your learning that jehovah is not god's only true name.. .
what do you say when talking to them if you get the chance?.

My first wife studied with the witnesses before we were married and when I invited her to my church she shook like a leaf. I couldnt understand this because I had been used to going to other churches all my life and I didnt have that type of behaviour.
So from my experiance i can understand what some witnesses must go through visiting another church.
