What a roller coaster it has been lately. No way I would want to manage our investments. Leave it to the brokers and try to ignore it. If you look at your account every day you will go nuts.

My mutual fund is still worth less than it was in 2000.
I'm letting it sit.
It'll turn back around.
I'm in it for the long haul.
Yes, it is frustrating, Gregor.

I am the consumate bear so my money has been in commodities such as precious metals and domestic oil companies. They are all doing well and I will continue holding for a while. Back in 98-99' I started buying silver and gold when no one else was and being accused of insanity and recklessness. Sometimes having the last laugh is fun. My rare currency collection has been appreciating by 7-10% each year for the last ten years.
I never trust brokers or fund managers who make money even when thier clients get hosed.

DOW down 387 points today. Pretty painful, and I don't think we've seen the worst of it yet.

Buy platinum! Their is a law that can be put into place to take goldaway from you. Platinum wasn't considered that valuble at the time hence not in the law.

Up 4% so far this year for my mutuals, which is disappointing. Got out of REIT's which were dragging it down the first 2 quarters.
