We are haveing corned beef tonight for tea and we allways have white sauce with it. How much do you pay per kilo for corned beef in other parts of the world?
In Australia we pay about $6.00 a kilo or about $2.50 per pound.
last year i purchased a corned beef package from trader joes.
i love corned beef but my husband didn't so i rarely cooked it for the family.
but trader joes was passing out samples last year, i couldn't resist and hubby decided he liked it but i'm only to buy the corned beef from trader joes.

i'm surprised at how much is in the watchtower lately and at assemblies warning of apostates.
is it my imagination or is this ramping up a lot lately.
i am a born-in and stopped attending only a few years ago (now in my 40's) but don't remember so much anti-apostate warning as we see now.. the watchtower seems extra obsessed with apostates and the need to warn about them lately.
Someone mentioned the 7th day Adventists.
Growing up as an Adventist I can remember the church haveing problems with apostates. There was what was callled the 'awakening message' lead by Robert Brinsmead who had been disfellowshiped but his followers still went to church splitting many churches in half. I can remember the ordinary church folk would sit on one side of the church the brinsmeads as we called them would sit on the other. Brinsmead and his followers were perfectionists and accused the church of herecy.
Today there are still apostate groups one I have just been reading about is in England Australia and the states. They don't beleive in the holy Trinity and are accusing the church of being apostate because originally the SDAs were Arian just like the JWs. They refer to the doctrine of the trinity as the Omega herecy. These people are causing the church great concern as they gather disciples around them but the church is reluctent to act against them because of money.

after i left the jw's about 5 years ago i decided to visit a few other churches out of curiosity.
i visited some big contemporary style churches, you know, the ones with bands and loads of young people.
i wasn't surprised to see so much emphasis on jesus of course but what struck me was the almost total absence of any emphasis or praise given to the father.
I beleive the Holy Spirit is the forgotten member of the godhead. How often are prayers directed to the Holy Spirit? and remember he is another comforter our lord promised to send and was sent at penticost.

Gday Josie, Corned beef in a can was rations for th eAussie soldiers in ww2 and was called "Bully Beef" and they hated it. I like the stuff either in a can or fresh. The fresh corned beef has to come from a good supplier because if it is cooked for three hours and still not tender it's rubbish. A crock pot is the way to go.

i haven't been able to actually talk to any "apostates" yet, haha.
.
i'm not much of a poster, mostly read alot, but would like to have a good conversation..
I'm "berryford1 from Australia
it's very rare that i visit this site these days and even rarer that i start a thread, but ever so often i see a comment so outrageous that i just have to respond.
in a thread entitled "are black people more emotional than white people", the op made the following comment concerning the lack of "black people" in australia:"we have the australian aboriginal people butthey are a different race more related to white people i beleive.
" the bad spelling and grammer isn't the only thing wrong with this sentence.
Some posters have said the Australian natives are originaly from africa which is very true. The african bushman are the same race as the Australian natives. There is a movie called "The gods must be crazy". which features these people. They have a very unique way of speaking by making a distinct clicking sound with their tongue.
The bushman, some Indian people and Australian natives are all australoids not negro.
Newchapter , The American Indians are 100% mongol. The mormon people might say they are caucasian to promote their theology. Genetic tests have been done to absolutely refute their claims.

Philidelphia Ponos, I never said the Australian natives had any european blood. I said they were closest to the caucasian race rather than the other two. I beleive anthrapologists say they are a very ancient race also.
It's also a fact when aboriginals breed with whites the progeny becomes more caurcasian. With any negroid ancestry of a white couple could produce black offspring.
Im not saying that it should be a problem or making any type of racist judgement here I'm only talking about genitics.
It only makes our world more interesting with such beautiful diversity. No one would like th eflowers to be all the same colour.
May I remind the author of this thread that all Indians from India are caucasian regardless of there skin colour be it light or very dark.

I've never accused someone of being a troll. Maybe you should just accept the fact that other people have a different opinion to you and have thought about what they say. I may be wrong and I would admit it. You know a smart person can change his mind but a fool never. Barry

doofdaddy, No the aboriginal people didn't fight for their land. Aboriginal beleif states they don't own land, "the land owns them".
My point is you should stick to the facts. The english didn't invade Australia. The English established a penal colony here.

Gday talesin, Europeans settled in Australia. They didnt invade with military force. When Captain Cook first landed one of his crew was speared to death by an aboriginal later when captain Philip, our first governor of New South Wales went to meet the aboriginal people he was speared in the shoulder and told his soldiers not to fire on the natives.
When captain Cook went to Hawawai he was killed by the natives their after leaving strict instructions not to fire and cause bloodshed.
I have respect for these men, they were true gentlemen.
Europeans did settle in Australia and aboriginals were badly treated by some.
People from all over the world can settle in Australia now. Do we now call those people invaders? No
Did the aboriginal people consisting of over 1000 tribes languages and no central government and have an imigration policy for foreigners entering their country ? No
