Are gays really condemned in the Bible?

so i was having this argument with a friend about the westboro baptist idiots.

my point is that while they are horrible people, they are pretty much right in that the bible is against gays because it has verses in both the old and the new testament.

which is one of many reasons to reject the bible as merely man-made rules from ancient middle-easterners.. and she argued that there are problems in translation, etc.

I believe gay people are born that way and for many they struggle with their faith sometimes for years. No one would choose to be gay with all the bigotry as well as sometimes even family may treat them differently.

Ive heard about the positions some gay people take [no pun intended] in reference to bible texts .

In ancient societies a family had the responsibility to bring ups family to support fertility in the society and a same sex couple would be looked down on as shirking their responsibility.

Another position taken is a gay couple relationship is normal to them and bible texts are talking about promiscuous relationships.

the markets are already in free fall and the moronic bigots who campaigned for this are celebrating the demise of our country .. i can't see how a 49-51% split can be democratic?

in behalf of the horrific events of saturday night, i just wanted to take a moment to remind everyone that islam is a religion of peace.

it doesn’t matter that the quran explicitly says that homosexuals should be stoned to death (7:84) - it’s still a religion of peace.

and it doesn’t matter that the scriptures say that all gay men should be killed (sunan 1:152) - islam doesn’t in anyway condone violence.. it doesn’t matter that every mainstream imam calls homosexuality a sin "worse the adultery" - it’s not a religion of bigotry.. it doesn’t matter that 61% of muslims in the uk think gay acts should be made illegal - islam has nothing against the gay community.. it doesn’t matter that countries with sharia law actively persecute the lgbt community - islam is all about peace and love.

According to the pew research Islamists have beliefs which in any western context are quite alarming. EG in favour of making sharia the law of the land Malaysia 86% Egypt 74%. Should sharia apply to non muslims Malaysia 41% Egypt 74%. Death for leaving islam Egypt 86% Indonesia 18% [ Indonesia admittedly a more reasonable figure but it would be high figure at my Anglican church where the figure would be somewhere between 0 and nothing for leaving christianity]

There is an enormous problem with Islam because its a totalitarian system much the same as communism and nazism. Muslims are told constantly they can exact islamic punishment themselves where ever they live regardless of the law of the land they have no respect for.

Here is Australia 50 years ago there were prison sentences for homosexuality and the state governments have apologised for their stand to homosexuals that were imprisoned. This position is now seen like the dark ages and some of the young generation just find it hard to believe.

Spreading the "Religion of Peace" in Europe

i love europe.

i love going there not as a tourist, but just blending in and spending time with locals in non-touristy local gems.. islam seems to be spreading their religion of peace throughout the continent.

We all should be doing something about radical Islam.

I will be organising a barbecue for people interested in the stopping of Australia being Islamised. i already have Christians from the middle east that have been traumetised by Islam attending as well as many Aussies and we may get someone to stand for parliament here in Canberra.

The barbecue will be held on the 16th of April.

Richard Dawkins has had a Stroke

he is back home and making god progress.. he has issued an audio statement here....

I listened to Richards Audio and it seems he lives alone. He has been in hospital for 4 days and has people coming around such as phyio to get him moving. Should it be suggested to him he needs someone there 24/7 . I find him overall a nice guy.

What Should the Minimum Wage Be (USA)?

during the gop debates donald trump said that american’s “wages [are] too high” and later said “that having a low minimum wage is not a bad thing for this country” (7:25)..

do you agree and if so why?.

my two cents on this issue; do the math.

I believe you have to look at the minimum wage question like this.

If minimum wage workers are paid more then the work they do has to be passed on to what they produce weather it be grocery produce, clothes, cleaning or factory produce.

Imagine if higher paid workers have to pay a bit more for the above items or services wages are only part of the cost of them.

Countries other than the US do this and are very successful in providing a working wage for all. Just like communism.

There is a problem with this approach in that it will make a country less competitive and some may loose their jobs from lack of exports and an increase of imports. Some economic sectors will not be effected such as the tourist sector because their jobs can't be exported .

There is no point in competing with say China on wages each country should compete on their natural advantage.

I'm not an economist just my thoughts.
