I studied with the witnesses for 6 mths, however when I was first invited to the KH on memorial night I asked my minister to come with me. At first he wasnt sure but then he agreed to come. The meeting explained how only the 144000 could receive the elements etc. After the meeting the guy who invited asked me why I had brought Ross along but the elders got on with Ross very well seems they new each other and we stayed back talking while almost everyone had left.

9The BIG YELL at the KH
by ZazuWitts ini was about age 12, already bored with the routine of sunday talks, and the 'tower' study.
i had had about two years worth of enduring the repetitive meetings, as a consequence of my parents' conversion.. one sunday turned out to take a decidedly exciting direction.
we were at the kh early in order for my ms stepdad to tend to his duties before the 3:00 public talk.

by malian inlike many others, i have not been able to change the views of my dear love, who has been brain-washed by the wts...(sigh).... however, i am waiting for the prophecy of 1914 to fail; the world will live on, and our loved ones will at least have a seed of doubt planted in their mind.
to all: be patient!
i think that it will be a real eye-opener for many.

Dear Focus,
I would like to apologise for my error here, I should have checked. My error comes from my Adventist background which identifies the second comming and Armageddon as the same event. But thats still no excuse. Malian the link Focus ave is good reading its not necessary to waste any more time on the 1914 disaster.

Dear Mr Moe,
As I understand it the Jws dont have a church role of members so the only way you or anyone else is considered a member is from the report of activity you would put in to the society. Therefore I agree with the other posters to DA would be of little worth and would only give short term emotional satisfaction. In fact you would be giving them the authority to again control the situation.

i don't know you personally and i don't know what you have gone through in your life, but i can say from what i have seen in here you have a lot of angry,hate, and other issues inside you that needs to be dealt with.

To put some things in perspective look for some sites on the internet and see how other churches fair. See if other churches shun family members or disfellowship for disagreement with doctrinal positions. Or see if there is sites like this where so many people come to vent there anger, there has to be a reason for it, people dont do this for no reason at all.

Question about the "7000-year" Creati...
by Bendrr inin all the time i was in the witnesses, i too was taught that the "creative days" of genesis were 7000 years long.
what is the scriptural evidence supporting that?.
in the bible, it also says that to god a 1000 years is a day.

I studied with the witnesses and from what i remember the 7000 year theoryis based on Bishop Uushers cronology, that the world is 6000 years old and we are in the 7th creative day the last 1000 years of the 7th creative day would be the millenium. Uusher was very specific about when God started creating the world. He even calculated he started his creative work 9am monday. Most churches dont follow Uushers cronology now.
