  Translation of the Greek word "proskuneo"

  can someone explain why the nwt translates this word as "worship" in 42 of the 60 occurances in the new testament while translating it "do obedience to" in the 18 instances where jesus is the recipient?

  this seems so blatantly wrong.

  do they think no one will notice or do they have an explanation?

  sometime between sundown today and sundown saturday the u.n. building in nyc will be attacked with a nuke.

  it's a 85% certainty!

  i guess that means it a 15% certainty that it won't happen.

  "why, then, do the nations not realize and accept the approach of this climax of judgment?

  it is because they have not heeded the world wide advertising of christs return and his second presence.

  since long before world war i jehovahs witnesses pointed to 1914 as the time for this great event to occur.

  the other day i was reading a quote form a wts publication.

  i didn't bookmark it and now i can't find it.

  it was talking about the writers of the greek text, saying they were good men of god and god could get his point across through them.

  Question, Christ mediator for 144,00 or all?

  about two years ago, in an old zion watchtower from the 1890's, i read a nice, 6 or 7 paragraph piece about salvation through faith.

  it was written by russell's wife.

  she has obviously just read romans, galations and ephesians.

  according to the teaching of j.f.rutherford the holy spirit was no longer needed once jesus christ 'came to the temple of jehovah god' in 1918. .

  by his spirit, the holy spirit, jehovah god guides or leads his people up to a certain time, and thus he did until the time when "the comforter" was taken away ... in 1918. .

  in the 1939 book "salvation" it is said that the holy spirit was taken away in 1918. i find many refernces to the holy spirit in current wts literature.

  the answer should be known to all jw's.
