3 Weddings --------------> NO PARENTS ATTENDED !

just a few weeks ago i was trying to console bryan, whose jw daughter had informed him -- he was not welcome at her wedding.

well, i just found out...all my kids are now married.

What a blessing that they married "worldly" men!! That is really really really great news. Why not work on your soninlaws? Invite only them around for coffee, out for a beer, fishing etc. Start a relationship with them. Do whatever and for however long it takes. Remember you are protecting future grandchildren if you can start a relationship NOW with the newly acquired men in your life. Show the men that you are normal, just like them, that you love your daughters, that this is not your choice, etc. Show them that whatever they have heard about you is not true. Never stop, never give up on them, I think they may be your way in.

Does the Bible scare anyone else here sometimes?

maybe i'm just messed up, but i get really freaked out sometimes.

i can't understand the bible,.....in some places it seems like it's saying all you have to do is one or two things, then it seems like it's saying you have to do different things to be saved.... so many different people and religions have so many different takes on the bible.

i don't know which to beleive, and it scares me that if i beleived the wrong thing that i could go to hell, or just go to sleep forever as the witnesses say.

You will know them by their fruits. Identifying mark will be love. His ppl would have love amongst themselves. Faith without works is dead.

Personally, I would not want to be associated with an organization that so blatently contradicts the bible. Yes, there are good ppl in the JW religion but the bottom line is...guilty by association. If a person can sit there and listen to some man tell a group of ppl that in order for their dreams to be realized, (everlasting life, lions, food aplenty) then billions of people's dreams must be destroyed then I do NOT applaud that person for gracing us with their presence.

What have JW done for the world???? Bugged ppl Sat morning, made ppl have suicidal thoughts, ripped apart families, given no recognition therefore no closure to abuse victims, let ppl/children die due to 'no blood, ew no blood' laws, made ppl live in a fantasy world, taken away hope, let ppl go to prison to prove their faith, discouraged higher education, discourage childbearing, stolen youthfulness, scared people, taken away all fun holidays, guilted the hell out of people, promised the end then not delivered, made members follow one code of conduct and themselves another, quietly joined worldly organizations while members are not allowed to, made humans giddy about the coming death and destruction of other humans, wasted people's time, I COULD GO ON AND ON AND ON AND ON............

Do the man-made laws, rules, regulations, principles gleaned from the bible, scare me? YES, when JW are the ones doing the interpreting.

These are an example of things that were said to me constantly when I would ask questions like this. JW do NOT and are NOT allowed to think in reality. Questions like this and others are "left in Jehovah's hands." In other words, the WBTS can spew any old crap they want, and members will swallow it because THEY WEREN'T MEANT TO UNDERSTAND.

LOL..typical JW. This is ok, but that is not. When the 2 are as close as close can be.

What is the diff bet Desperate Housewives and Wife Swap?? Housewives is worse. It is full of adultry, fornication, lying, stealing, suicide, blackmail, you name it. For f***sake, it is ok to WATCH and be entertained by other ppl doing it but they would quickly shed that coat and put on the coat of moral highness when necessary to SHUN a family or friend for doing it or preach agaisnt it or nod their head at an assembly or meeting in agreement????

DOUBLE DOUBLE DOUBLE DOUBLE DOUBLE DOUBLE DOUBLE DOUBLE DOUBLE STANDARDS!!!

Nothing personal, but this drives me nuts.

BTW. Desperate Housewives COULD have been interesting, but has now turned into a waste of time.

i got into trouble with my wife again.

she had just come home from a one day c.a.

and felt the "need" to share with me.

I have thought about why it is not easy for me to say 'Jehovah' anymore. My sister in law hates that as well, so I always throw a few 'Jehovah's' into any conversation about religion to appease her.

I don't say it anymore bec it is like giving JW a pat on the back everytime I say it. To me, Jehovah=JehovahsWitnesses. The two are the same to me now. By saying Jehovah I am reminded of how subtle the borg indoctrines their members that they are HIS witnesses. I call the creator, GOD, out of respect. It is his title. Children do not call parents by their first name nor do students call teachers by their first name. It is a sign of authority and respect, something I obviously did not really have when I was a JW. It is a sign of the superficial belief system that exists.

Millions now dying will never have lived.

this phrase has been going through my mind over and over for the past few days and finally made its way out onto paper, and then here.

as my beloved grandmother, a "faithful witness of jehovah" has hovered between living and dying for the past few weeks now, i have asked myself again and again what is the justice in her surviving all the things that she has in her 80+ years to come to the end of her faithful service only to be another casualty of the jw policy on blood.

i think about the fact that for almost sixty of those 80+ years she has lived and would have died at any point for her faith in the "faithful and discreet slave.

I will never forget a discussion with my mother in August. I made point after point with her that she could not refute. My mother! The door-knocker extraordinare! Nothing to say back. Finally she just looked at me with this very scary blank stare and said, "If I gave up my faith now, I would not know who I am."

There is this wall around her that is impenetratable.

for me it was the realization that there was no "faithful & discreet slave", that all the prophecies "proving" that jehovah's witnesses are the only religion approved by god is bogus and the realization that this is a "cult" and there is no real normal sense of love and affection in the "truth".

It helps to know that many of us have lost friends and family in order to hold tight to what we believe. I am in the middle of potentially losing my lifelong friend and sisterinlaw. We have been through life together. There is nothing that we have not shared with each other. Boyfriends, baptism, marriage, breakup of marriages, affairs, childbirth, parents with cancer...everything. Now she is thinking that she may have to give me up bec I am df'ed. I have been this way for 3 years, but now it bothers her.

It is not my choice. I keep saying that to myself.

I think of others here that have lost children over this. My own best friend right now has lost her son to this religion. They have turned him agaisnt her bec she left the marriage. He will not see her. CHILDREN! Their own!!! That, to me, puts things into perspective.

Blondie once said to me, is it not better that you stay in a safe place, a place where your sisterinlaw can go to? Yes, as hard as it is not to please others, it is better I stay here and wait for her to see the truth.

A friend in need said, Jez "Do the names Ruth and Ester sound familiar?"

Maybe if you look in the Table of the Books of the Bible and check under WRITERS you will notice that Ruth and Ester are not listed as bible writers. So I don't know what the hell you are talking about but the bible IS from a totally male point of view.
