What was the key topic(s) that you used to help you get your J.W. relative/

i was looking on page 22 of this forum, at radars' post of december 15, '01, which said "what made you a j.w.?

i was wondering which topics worked best for you?.

for me it was the idea that trinity is fake, because i never believed in trinity.

Everywhere the religions proclaim trinity, so i was searching for a religion that did not teach trinity.

And the sister of JW's came on my door, i let her in (she was suprised, although it rained very hard and she was on her bike with a baby)

and asked her a few questions. Also about trinity and so i was thinking that JW's had the truth.

But the mesleading was very subtile.

I am now away from JW's ans very sometimes i go to the meeting , just to keep in touch with the changes in teachings.

What i see everytime is, that the personalities of the most of the JW's is not developing forward, but fast backwards. I think thats a sign on the wall.

I still not believe in trinity, but I love the teachings of Jesus, who is a very strong example how to stay away from all the mind-controlled organisations.

Does any one know what C T Russell died from??

i know the wt has said why knorr and rutherford died but not russell.

this omission seems somewhat strange, being that he was so prominant his followers would naturally be curious as to the cause of death of their beloved leader.

And where did he actually die anyway?

On his way to NY or while travelling still in Texas?

Or in his bed?

one message says it was a sudden death, so what was the reality?

it looks all misty to me.

i wrote a letter to the elders of the congregation here, in which i ask them to send me my complete dossier, i dont want them to have any information about me left in their hands.. untill now , its 3 weeks left , i got no response.. has anybody experiences with this and how to handle the problem?.

i am planning to go to court to force the elders to give me my dossier about me, because we have a law on privacy here.. can anybody give some advices?

the WT of 87 1/5 page 26(dutch) say that he died a traveling by train (witness service journey) and that he was led on a bed while going back to new york , and the secretary was asking him about his book.

It looks like that the train was not really the place where he had the last breath before he died.

WT 83 15/8 tells us on page 17 (dutch translation) that Russel suddenly unexpectingly died on tuesdaynight 31 octobre 1916.

WT 78 15/3 say that he was during 32 years president of the WT bible and tract soc. *page 22 (D.tr).

WT 73 1/19 page 589 say that he died in the train in Pampa, Texas.

After his death Rutherford was actually president , but it was official in januari 1917, and that was written in Russell's will , several years before. And also the names of other 4 men.

Visit from an Elder...

just had a visit from an elder.

this particular one, i believe is sincere.

but at the same time, i've been there before.

the text that elders say when they visit you, is standard: 'jehovah always had an organisation'

but indeed the ark is not an organisation, but concrete object, like the kingdom hall is a concrete object. But they cannot be compared with each other. and the watchtower organisation is also not the same as the ark of noah.

By going in the ark, Noah was saved, not by visiting it. By going to the kingdom hall or belonging to the organisation, is not an assurance for eternal life.

there are too much churches on earth that tell the same to their followers.

And more: i see that the organisation of the watchtower does not stand for what they supposed to: the bible.

The internet is full of online bibles and translations, and i can say that http://e-sword.net/bibles.html contains the most complete number of translations,

But the Watchtower society has not 1 bible online, its worse, if i ask for a bible in the kingdom hall, its a standard procedure that i have to order it and after 6 months it may be available for me.

That's not the way i can give bible study to new comers.

So, if the Watchtower organisation supposed to be the organisation of God Jehovah, why is the bible reduced to something that is not worth to put online?
