That is scary!
have you noticed the watchtower's slow drift into another self-destructive trap of their own design?
i know i will get a couple of responses from some.
the opinions will generally come from two camps: the society will never die because there will always be ones willing to write a mental "blank check"and embrace "god" through his "orginization".the society will prosper because it is god's orginzation in our times.. .

i was watching the news last night.
the latest word from the war front is that we should be able to peaceably work out our differences with north korea.
as humiliating as it will be for us to kiss north korea's ass, we will do so because they do have the ability to nuke our west coast.
Subjects like this always make me feel that I'm out of my depth. I mean, nothing I could say would change anything at all! So I tend not to form too many opinions.
However, the other day brought the whole subject a little closer to home.
One of my friends' sons is due to get his anthrax injection on 5th jan. 6th jan he starts 10 days intense training to cope with heat and then he's off to war. Aeroplanes first and he in the tanks, second.
The whole thing is shit. I feel sick to my stomach.
actually i was one of the sad ones that use to love to try and remember what i had learnt, but after some time the written review became tedious and oh so boring....... but i recvd a phone call today from my mam who informed me that the written review was being changed to an oral review .... oh the excitement.... you know, to save on the costs, plus that 'we' are progressing????
(my mam's words)... oh dear, i am so glad i am away form the lot of 'em.. did you ever notice how the hall attendance would diminish drastically when the w.r. was taking place????
maybe after all these years, someone, somewhere has taken the hint....... oh well i can be counted out anyway...... i hope that your replies are amusing?!.
Gopher
You pinched my reply!
I suppose too, that the faithfull and indiscreet clever bastards, that are able to quote, retain and regurgitate, will be the ones to p-a-d-o-u-t the entire oral review, whatever.
An opportunity to allow the mind to wander off on to things of more importance, like, how to make an escape from this bullshit and taking the pee out of those that are vigorously exerting themselves in providing answers so that the saddo on the platform dosn't feel such a dick!

do you think that you expect too much from people?
do you often get disappointed when expectations are not realized?edited by - minimus on 1 january 2003 10:28:52.
Well, being a witness, one of my BIG mistakes was expecting too much of others.
I.E. whatever I was taught during my study and to the point of sacrificing my true personality, relationships with others and my marriage, I totally and utterly EXPECTED that I would be treated in like manner from my fellow witnesses.
Not an effing chance.
Long stories and endless ramblings omitted, however, the whole jw experience has taught me to be more tolerant with people and to expect only what can be given by individuals, given their circumstanses.
what are some of your favorite jw catch phrases?.
"food at the proper time".
"spiritualy weak".
How about..
JOYFUL PRAISERS OF JEHOVAH?
my wife and i have been witnesses for almost 50 years.
we are both third generation witnesses and raised in the "lie".
we raised our kids in it also.
What a lovely post.
You sound very confident, calm and sure.
I look forward to hearing from you again.

Has anybody else had a visit?
i know this is a topic that will get very little attention on the board but when i heard that joe strummer died yesterday i said to myself......well, i guess i couldn't really tell you because the profanity would have surpased a david mamet film.
for me, i only had one band that i truly liked, and that band was the clash.
for my money they were the best band to ever walk the earth.
I can't say that I ever was heavily into The Clash, although I certainly experienced some great times pogoing and bopping around to some of their music. I believe I even have a few of their tunes in colured vinyl.
For me, my memories of The Clash remind me of liberation from David Cassidy and the like and the garbage that was around pre-punk era.
Mind you I was still at school in their hey-day. And I did actually prefer the Sex Pistols, Stiff Little Fingers and Generation X.
Yet still, a sad day.
the clash's joe strummer dies at 50 .
