  How do I hear/feel God?

  this is a serious question.. i know people that hear/feel god (and see postings about people's experiences), but i have not experienced this.

  i have never heard anything audibly (or otherwise) nor "felt" anything inwardly.. i've prayed, read, quieted my thoughts, etc...but still nothing..

  Actually tec - I can totally get the defence of friend approach. I think its a great general idea for friends to have each others back. Shame you don't just say that and leave it at that. The moment you start to say she can be nasty because others are nasty you are into justification territory which doesn't have much going for it.

  Thanks Raz - ok here is a basic logical leap I'm failing to make and I can't find a good expalnation of it yet.

  I am happy with the concept of the Higgs Field but is the field expressed by the Higgs Bosun or is the Higgs Bosun an evidence of the field? If the field is caused by the Higgs bosun and all matter is equally affected then Higgs bosuns must be all over the place which seems at odds with the idea that they decay so quickly and can only be 'seen' in a collision scenario. How can a rapidly decaying particle be responsible for a stable field? However, if the Higgs bosun is simply the result of exciting the underlying field such that it momentarily changes state (to a particle) and then decays away then I can almost square that.

  The Mormon church is having a crisis. More and more are leaving, as the church ups it's media presence so those who leave are matching it ( the ' I am a Mormon' adverts have been met with 'I am an ex-Mormon' videos.) The institutional and conservative nature of the church means it is cracking like a warming ice sheet with sections calving off while the overall depth of belief is thinned. The recent onslaught of intelligent, witty atheism has caught the church in a broadside as more intelligent , educated born in members are open to progressive and well presented knowledge. The LDS church will collapse far quicker than the JW one which is simply ,slowly strangling itself in pointlessness. IMO.
