Food storage is one of the LDS 'commandments'(quotes because its not a commandment in the normal sense - more a strong recommendation from above - like thou shalt brush thy teeth) We are counselled to have 1 year of food and 2 weeks of water for everyone in the house. On top of that we ar eto have everything necessary for limited survival in emergencies (like a 72 hour pack.) Its not for the end of the world as far as we know but if the end arrives it'll be pretty darn handy.

Is Confession Actually A Bad Thing To Do?

) or do something really bad, the last thing i think about is confessing to it.. i apologise where appropriate, try to learn from the experience and generally file away the event so's to maybe profit by the experience.

The idea of confession is that the Elder/Priest is supposed to represent Jesus and that in the confession there is a chance to educate and provide support for the sinner and begin the process of repentance (inner change). Disfellowshipment or excommunication is a merciful thing in that the individual with a serious sin is not held by covenants that might otherwise condemn them ( a little like declaring bankruptcy - so you can start again with a fresh sheet.) Of course that is the theory - when foolish men misunderstand the process it ends up causing a whole world of hurt.

The Trinity!

i have studied all the denominations of christianity, those who deny the deity of christ, and those who don't, those who believe in a trinity and those who do not.

Just to add a little mix to this - the Mormons Believe: The trinity is 3 seperate individuals. Jesus IS Jehovah. The Elohim (Gods) created the earth and that god is a title - hence it is also possible for us to become gods through progression and learning to become like our Father. Just to really mix it - Jesus and the Holy Spirit are our brothers (yes the Holy Spirit is male) , we are all related because we were spiritually born before coming to earth (see Genesis 2) and that family relationships formed on earth can continue if we want them to in the next part of our life after death. Unfortunately I won't be able to fight very strongly from the bible as that is confused by mistranslation and deliberate inconsistencies (though I can give it a go if anyone is really interested) but the real clarity of this is through our additional scripture and a living prophet.

Am I really listening to this!!!! You have more free will than you can imagine you nutters!! This 'theres no free will only predefined actions' is the sort of bizarre thinking that actually keeps me in my religion. If you are conscious you have free will. Free will isn't the ability to do anything you want its the ability to choose happiness or unhappiness by your actions and thoughts (so even if your in jail you can still respond to that situation.) There is nothing so annoying as a bunch of filthy rich people banging on about lack of free will - go to a 3rd world country and see how they respect their free will and get on with living it. Rant over.
