Any one read David Rohl's books?
by sleepy inthese are two fascinating books on the historisy of the ealier bible accounts.. .
if you doubt that the books of "moses" were based on real history these books are worth a read.. anyone else read them and what did you think?.
i what to do more research on ancient bible history and how these stories relate to real history.. i find it amazing how many ancient accounts of early humans mentions gods coming to the earth and breeding with humans.. they usually contain a flood account too.. these stories come from all over the earth from south america , eygpt and asia as well as the middle east.. is there any truth in these stories .. any books you could recomend.

Is there any truth in these stories .none agree on the details, so you can't simply assume the bible account is the correct one. I agree there is a possibility of something real behind the stories.

ten facts about my lunch
1) It contains 16 grams of fat
2)8 of those grams are from saturated fat
3)It contains 10% of my FDA recommended daily dosage of vitamin C
4)Partially Hydrogenated palm kernel oil has been used in it's creation, why it is only partially hydrogenated I don't know.
5) Citric acid has been added to preserve freshness. I'm sure freshness is a measurable scientific standard.
6) It is manafactured by the highly respected Oscar Mayer company located in Madison, Wisconson
7) Sorry, I am not a winner. But I am encouraged to 'try again'
8)Apparantly, it is the 'FUN' variety. I guess they were sold out of the 'BORING' type at my supermarket

and as for what we know fo reality and the nature of the universe, quantum physics states some pretty crazy, 'extraordinary claims'. For example I posted before about 'spooky action at a distance'
Here is a summary of that effect of quantum physics:

One of the apparent paradoxes of QM is non-locality, which suggests that everything in the universe comprises one interconnected whole in which all parts communicate with each other at infinite speeds. Non-locality is the ostensible transfer of information at superluminal (faster than light) speeds, something that Einstein's theory of relativity, and countless experiments, tell us is impossible.As Amit Goswami put it, "...it is logical to conclude that psychic phenomenon, such as distant viewing and out-of-body experiences, are examples of the nonlocal operation of consciousness. ...Quantum mechanics undergirds such a theory by providing crucial support for the case of nonlocality of consciousness."
As an example of superluminal communication I will describe an experiment involving what is called quantum entanglement, in which pairs of particles are correlated even though they are separated from each other. Certain subatomic particles can produce pairs of photons when they decay. These photons race away from each other at the speed of light and have certain restrictions with regard to their properties. If the parent particle had zero angular momentum (rotational energy), the resulting two photon system must also have zero angular momentum, otherwise spin
If photon one has spin up in the x-axis then photon two must have spin down in its' x-axis. In this sense the photons are entangled because the measurement of spin in one photon means that the other photon must have the opposite spin in the same axis of rotation. This might not seem too unusual but the predominant interpretation of QM, the Copenhagen interpretation, tells us that at the quantum level nothing is real unless you look at it (bounce radiation off it). Until then quantum systems exist only as a wave of probability, called a wave function, that collapses into reality during measurement and then disperses again when you're done looking at it. Another way to look at this is that the spin of the particle is a superposition (a mixture) of all possible spins (up and down in this case) and when an observation takes place one particular spin becomes real. The probability of each spin depends on its wave function. ( It is this inherent probabilistic nature of QM that bothered Einstein so greatly, causing him to remark "God does not play dice.") So what we have in this experiment are twin state photons both consisting of spin up and spin down at the same time. At the instant of measurement the wave function for the two photon system collapses, one photon becoming spin up and the other spin down. In order for each to have an opposite spin it appears that an instantaneous communication occurs between them, what Einstein called "spooky action at a distance."
----------------------------------------------------------It would be absurd to think that two particles, seperated by light years can somehow still behave as if they are connected. This is crazy, how can they possibly be connected with no visible or explainable means?
Or for example, it has been shown that light is both a particle and a wave. This is also an absurd idea but it was been demonstrated. If light is a wave, then what is it 'waving?' Wtaer waves need water, sound waves need air, etc. What does light need to wave? Apparantly nothing, at least nothing we can observe. To complicate matter light can be bent by gravity, suggesting that the universe, our space-time, is wrapped around 'something.'
I can understand the skeptics viewpoint, I cant beleive in bigfoot until I see him face to face, or ghosts until one floats across my living room. But I wont say 'No, they cant possibly exsist. Theres just no way.' The exsistence of gorillas was ridiculed for a long time until poeple brought back live specimens and skeletons. There is an unfortunatley large amount of arrogance in science that seems to to say' we know all there is to know' and will not accept new ideas easily. Evolution was not readily accepted, not even dinosaurs.

I'm not sure what He'd have me do. I'm still applying the P-A-S-S word (prayer, association, study, service).
Prayer to GOD, Assosiation not with just a select group of people in a little club but with intilligent, kind people who help make you a better person, Service not to a publishing empire but to god and humanity, in form of charity and kind deeds, Study, not the rambling of a few old men in brooklyn but the ramvblings of many old men throughout the ages, there is much wisdom and much foolishness, it takes experience to discern the difference. Read everything, even if you beleive it to be false. Consider all things with an open mind.
Negativity to the JW is misdericted at the rank and file often, I think the real blame and anger should be directed at the governing body. The JW are for the most part kind people who are terribly misguided and brainwashed.

The governing body has turned christianity into a twisted, unrecognizable mass of horrid putrid squirming malformed manmade doctrine.
They made a huge error in applying the new testament soley to annointed. I think what seemed to have happened is at one point the founding fathers of the society all beleived they were going to heaven...as time passed an rapturing occured, and they grew older and older with new members joining the ranks..they grew jealous and proud and decided they were of a higher rank since theyd been there longer..and so applied the new testament only to themselves and not to the new ones.
When armagedon comes, Jesus will look at the JW governing body as say 'You didnt clothe, feed, shelter or comfort anyone! Get behind me you sons of vipers etc etc.' The JW's have commited an almost unforgivable sin in rejecting all charity work, in rejecting their fellow humans, their brothers. They see the hungry, the sick, the homeless, the poverty stricken, and they give them magazines. Theres not a lot of nutritional value in pulp.
Clearly, even the 'fals relisions' are more in favor of god by doing good deeds. I think actions speak louder than words, and if someone says god is a squirrel who lives on a cheese planet in alpha centauri, and does many good deeds such as feeding the hungry and helping the poor, he is in better favor with god than someone who has a photograph of god, and has gods word on a tape cassete, and has direct communication with god but dosent lift a finger to help his brother.

I respect you in a sence. You are gay and if that's what you enjoy, good for you. I don't believe that is healthy and the Bible condemns it. But it is what you have chosen, so that is fine with me. The problem is when we try to deceive others, that is what an apostate does.

How is being gay unhealthy? Please show me any sicknesses or ailements caused by being gay. AIDS dosent count, it is transmitted by blood and sexual intercourse, heterosexual or homosexual. I could see a somewhat valid argument that sex in general isn't healthy, but that's about it.
The bible may condemn homosexuality, but it dosen't condemn slavery, polygamy, or the killing of babies for the sins of their fathers, all things now condemned by christianity. Might as well use Hitler's Mein Kampf to back up arguments about morals.
