G'day ArgCampeon,
You must be used to explaining JW teachings by quoting random texts out of context!
For the sake of clarification, the NT letter by the name of Titus was written by the apostle Paul to Titus who was on the island of Crete. Both men had introduced Christianity to the island and Paul left Titus there to organize the converts. This letter is believd to have been written by Paul from Macedonia and was to give instructions to Titus about meeting opposition, about faith and conduct, and warnings about false teachers, as well as Paul's future plans for him.
You now need to read the verses you have quoted in that context. Shall we do that?
Titus 2:1 says "You, however, keep on speaking what things are fitting for healthful teaching."
The emphatic You is contrasting the work of Titus with that of the false teachers just denounced in Chapter 1:10-16.
Titus 3:9 says "But shun foolish questionings and genealogies and strife and fights over the Law, for they are unprofitable and futile. "
This is a reference to the situation described in chapter 1:10-16. A similar problem existed in Ephesus (see 1 Timothy 1:3-7).
So Paul was not writing in the first century about the conduct or whatever of persons on the JW Discussion Board in the twenty-first century.
See what I mean? Good.
Cheers,
Ozzie
