your recent thread on god ordering killing got me to thinking about this concept again.
i also know that the anti-abortion people like to use the sanctity of human life argument to support their position as well.

Why did you have children (or not)?
by JustAThought inok, after reading some of the responses in the mental health and depression forum ... and of the mormons' urging of their followers to have large families, ... and participating in the discussion on the costs associated with having and raising children, ... the question comes up ... .
for those of you with children or not, or those contemplating having children or not, ... what factors did/do you consider in making your decision (or, was there any decision-making involved)?.
do you think children, largely, are just a by-product of sexual activity between fertile men and women, ... or are there other, deeper issues involved?.

jdubla, you are ignoring REM's argument which is very valid. You cannot disocunt his argument because he dosent beleive in the bible. just as you have every right to critisize the laws that another country issues even though you are not bound by them.

Note that the your argument would also apply to all major diseases for which there is treatment but no cure.
Note the recent events ina frica, the major manufacturers of aids cocktails would not allow some nations in africa to use generic brand of their cocktails..they care more about money then helping people.

There is a lot of money in aids treatment drugs. Thats a big reason not more research is being done to stamp out the disease. Watch the movie AND THE BAND PLAYED ON about the early days of the AIDS discovery to se the mentality of scientists and cotors in the field (arrogant, competetive)

i know if you're some woopdeedoo jw you didn't mingly with the 'worldy' but those who did or do or will or...argh...ok. they think 'wordly' people are going to burn and be destroyed in armageddon so if they have love or friendship for a worldly person how do they deal with this 'truth'?

Who Here Feel Strongly?
by ballistic ini feel so mad because of what i went through for the "truth" i just want to shout about it.
i'm not mad with the individuals, some of which are genuine, mostly good, and nearly all mislead.
i just view the whole organisation like a run away machine, gone crazy, dangerous.

Would you admire me if I died in a horrible concentration camp for refusing to say that the great squirrel god did not exsist and that when I died I would go to a heaven inhabbited by sports illustrated swimsuit models? Would you admire me if I died there even though the only thing I had to do to get out was sign a peice of paper?
I don't know if it is admirable as much as stupid.
