My problem with most x-jw gathering is that they are usually some other christian group or religion trying to recruit former JW's into their flock. It's like having a former gambling addicct meeting but secretly planning to have them invest in risky real estate deals. It's taking advantage of them.

I represented myself when I sued my former employer and kicked ass. I'm still collecting moolah from those bastards.

exactly..was it safe to open the door when my car was parked? Was it safe to open it into another spot? The kicker is the passenger side door was open and did not extend into the other spot..it didnt go past the parking boundry. The other car shouldnt even have hit it, but he did. Again, ill try to settle out of court otherwise im gonna try to get as much cash as possible out of that stupid insurance company.
p.s- I looked up the cost of a new door, it is about $2,500 plus labor, cost of a new door frame is $1000 plus labor :)

There was no Car C, it was just for speculation. As for collision coverage, the bluebook value of my car dosent justify collision. It's worth about $3000 and the advice ive been given is that collision is not a good idea for such low value.

Yeah getting 'doored' is very common. But that's when a door is opened into a traffic lane. I think I will win this case on my door. Hopefully the video will show how fast this guy was going and the already-open passenger door.
hopefully he has a criminal record too :)

LB, but out of curiosity...you are supposed to be in control of your car at all times ok. But what if you lose control of your car for something that is not your fault? Like if I push you, and you fall and make an elderly woman stumble and break her hip, are you liable or am I? I can argue you should be in control of your person at all times and shouldnt be pushing old ladies. But you were not in control because I pushed you.

Sort of off-topic, but what if the car that hits the stationary vehicle was pushed into it by another car?
But anywasy, regarding this accident. I was Car A. The guy driving Car B claims the door opened right in front of him. I know it was already open, and mine had been open for a while. He went in that spot very fast, he was apparantly late for a parole hearing. His insurance company says its my fault. My insurance company says its not my fault. I do not have collision coverage, so I have to get the money to repair the door from Car B's insurance. Should I take him to small-claims court? repairing the door could cost $900 and up. If I can find motor vehicle laws on my side then it's a sure win, I may be able to settle out of court. Thanks for the advice guys.
I was also thinking of obtaining parking lot camera footage since it happened in a district court parking lot.

The Annual ``Don't Misbehave'' at Asemblies'' KM
by Room 215 ingreetings from the ``here we go again'' department.
while worldlings have only the song of the robins and the bloom of the daffodils and crocuses as harbingers of spring, jehovah's people and readers of their literature can always count on two more: the annual ``don't partake!
'' article in the watchtower, and the yearly exhortation to ``make nice at the summer's assemblies'' in the km.. in the case of the latter, the tone and content of the annual scolding is unbelievably demeaning to any responsible adult... being told to dress nice (suits and ties only, please, for the men and deresses only -- not too short ladies) not to abuse complimentary breakfasts, pool privileges and generally avoid rowdiness at the hotels where they stay-- all laced with clearly fabricated -- not to mention unattributed-- quotes from ``worldly observers amazed by our fine conduct.''.

Well honestly the JW teens were really really really bad at conventions, they treated it like a big party. Scopin' out the ladies, going out on the town..visiting each others hotel rooms.... bad bad bad.

In the following scenario, who is at fault:
A parked vehicle (car A) has just parked. The driver gets out, and the passenger starts to get out a little after the driver does. Then another vehicle (car B) goes in to park on the spot to the right of Car A. Car B hits the open passenger side door of the Car A and dents it pretty badly so that it cannot close anymore.
Did Car A have to watch for oncoming cars, or is the responsiblity to yield on Car B?
Car B claims the door opened right in front of him and he didnt have time to avoid the collision. Car B claims the fault lies in the passenger. Car A claims the fault lies in Car B for not yielding.
This occured in the State of Maryland. I have been researching Maryland Motor Vehicle Laws but so far have been unable to find any laws about opening doors of parked cars, other than opening them into traffic lanes.

Another fine summer is upon us . Now is the time to begin preparing for the upcoming 'Super duper brotherly love and glorifying Jehovah's name and Organization on earth District cionvention 2002.'
Last year there were many good experiences reported. In one hotel in Montana, the Hotel manager remarked, "Never in all my 2 hours of working here have I seen people so happy to get to the hotel after a day at their convention. The money spent on porn channels alone wa..'
errr...disregard that brothers. In addition to good remarks and experiences however, was some negative ones. Do we really want to reflect negatively on Jehovah's name? (Somescriptureyouwon'tlookup 23:14) At times like this when we are in the public eye is when attention to how we conduct ourselves most important. We must put on the spiritual personality and show christ-like love.
One Hotel Manqager wrote in: 'Boy oh boy where them jay dubbyas rowdy. They peed in the pool, got so drunk they was thinkin they were ricky martin and started dancin like crazed monkeies. Them kids was runnin 'round boinking like rabbits in the rooms and closets and all the pillows, blankets, beds, furniture, hell even some sections of wall were missing upon their leavin"
A momentary lapse in spiritual thinking can lead to disaster. So behave yourselves this year...or else.
