Matt.23:38 "See! Your house is left to you desolate;.....This does not sound like Jesus is about to enter into an agreement/contract/covenant with Israel at all. And we know that Jesus' death was an agreement that he had with the Father, not us. I think we are looking for a new agreement between God and Israel. (be they natural and/or spiritual)The paradise waited for will not come about before Israel signs an agreement with the antichrist, its broken, and the second half (31/2) years of the trib. are over.(one week)

This idolatry is labeled an abomination in Hosea 9:10 (referring to Numbers 25:1-3). Isaiah also confirms that worshipping false gods is an abomination (Isaiah 41:23-24). The result of this abomination is that Israel will become desolate (Hosea 2:12, translated "destroyed" in the KJV, and Hosea 5:9).

Therefore when you see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place...then let those in Judea flee to the mountains......

just a note.......... Dan 11:7-8 seems to picture Rev 13:11-12
Dan 11:7 but from a branch of her(harlot)roots one(antichrist) shall arise in his(satan) place......
Rev 13:11 another beast(antichrist) coming up out of the earth...two horns like a lamb
Dan 11:8 and he(antichrist) shall carry their gods captive to Egypt, with their princes and....
Rev13:12 he(antichrist) excercises all the authouirty of the first beast(satan)....causes the earth and all that dwell in it to worship the first beast

Chapter 11 of Daniel gives a sweeping view of history. I agree, however it seems to also pinpoint the beginning and the end of seventieth week specifically. if not then Dan 12:9 has no value. imo

It is interesting that the parties involved in the covenant are listed. Who are we looking at here?
Dan 11:6.....And at the end of some years they shall join forces, for the daughter(the bride) of the king of the South(Jesus) shall go to the king of the North(satan/4th beast) to make an agreement(covenant) but she shall not retain the power of her authority, and neither he(KofN) nor his authority(antichrist/pr. of Greece) shall stand; but she(the harlot) shall be given up with those who brought her, and with him who begot her(KofN) and with him(false prophet) who strenghtened her in those times.

Dan 11:45...And he shall plant the tents of his palace between the seas and the glorious holy mountain; yet he shall come to his end, and no one will help him.
Who is this guy?............I would say, the "prince of Greece."

we get a "personal" view of this person(who is not Jesus)
Dan.11:16...speaks of a "bad" guy standing in a "good" place, (the Glorious land, destruction is his power)
Dan 11:31...and forces shall be mustered by him, and they shall defile the sanctuary fortress; then they shall take away the daily sacrifices. and place there the abomination of desolation.....
Dan. 8:11....exaults himself as high as the prince of hosts (Jesus) UNTIL the daily sacrifices areTAKEN away
Dan. 12:11...And from the time that the daily sacrifice is taken away, and the abomination of desolation is set up, there shall be one thousand two hundred and ninety days.
Dan 8:23-25 we get a "world view" of this person (26) God will take away his dominion
I hope this makes sense, It is hard for me to put my thoughts on "paper" sometimes.
