Jesus might have been one of those fundamentalists I suppose...He quoted from the bible too, because "it" said so.

a self-proclaimed knowledge of the jehovahs witnesses is the condition of the dead, knowledge that somehow the rest of the world has missed.
their claim to this knowledge comes from a unique interpretation of the bible.
to even entertain this belief, the reader must also trust the bible as a reliable source of information.. the jehovahs witnesses reinforce this knowledge of death and resurrection with attractive images of the paradise to come.. .

my last update on my daughter was so good...but it didn't turn out that way.
she was cleared to go back to work, but with limitations... she couldn't lift more than 10 pounds.
her employer wanted her back but wouldn't agree to the lifting restriction.
that's really good news for you and your family, coffee_black...

dear PSacramento...
in daniel 12:2 it says that in the resurrection there will be a resurrection of the just and the unjust...so those who are resurrected will not be "free of sin and final judgement, will be incorruptible" as you have said...logically, those who are wise would have to choose Jesus Christ. why?...because there is no wisdom in the grave and they wouldn't have chosen Him yet...those who die in Christ are present with Him in heaven. so if they don't NEED a resurrection of the flesh body, they are not with the "MANY" spoken of in daniel. (also note that in the great white throne judgement the places mentioned that give up the dead are earthly)...(those in Christ are in heaven and already judged according to His righteousness at the time of their death)...I think when paul said that he hoped for "the better resurrection", he was hoping for the exact thing that he spoke of..."to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord"

may you all have peace!.
for the first time in close to 15 years, i have not been compelled by our lord to issue an "invitation" on this board regarding the upcoming wtbts "memorial" event.
for many years, i have posted exhortations and reminders as to what our lord said about those "in union" with him and what it takes to be in such union.
dear AGuest...
you said: Shouldn't SOMEONE, then, care enough to say, "THIS is what you ALL should be doing?" My Lord has taught me that love says, yes, someone should. But who?...(john 6:45)
will you have the opportunity to instruct them all on why they should be taking the elements? will they all have an opportunity to examine themselves to see if they are indeed in the faith before they take the elements?
"and I would never advise anyone to go against their conscience. Again, this is not an exhortation for everyone, but for me, I know... and those who DO go to that event, still."...yet you would "remind" them? if this very serious instruction came from the Spirit then it wouldn't go against our conscience(s) would it?(1 cor 12:7)
further to God ultimately leading the people to Jesus and therefore the importance of the elements...the bible says that when the people thirst HE will plant people and set people IN THAT WILDERNESS so that they may all see and KNOW, consider and UNDERSTAND together...isaiah 41:17-20. Nothing here about random attendance at a yearly memorial to show (even) just one. God will plant that all will understand "life giving water" together!...
thankfully, there is nothing wrong with praying that God would plant "good trees" at the GB level (desolate heights) that they would invite their congregants to take life's water...free...amen.

p.s. I'm glad that you're recovering well from your surgery...take care Shelby...xo
few other legends are so well known, or read so often, and yet remain.
so poorly understood.
if you read the account in 1st and 2nd.
thanks jam .
I was just thinking about that yesterday. and wondering why the majority of the pharisees weren't accepting of Jesus on some level...I suppose it was fear/mistrust of each other (?) because nicodemus went to Jesus under cover of night. john 3:1-2

an answer to this question is subjective to the individual an a posteriori experiene.
however, can there be an a priori experence, one that is objective, outside the bounds of personel experiene, or does it remain subjective?
god speaks to me, through many venus, except audible.
dear Sylvia...
that scripture is an example of Jesus telling the truth and upsetting the pharisees...it is also an example in that there is no need to defend or debate the little things.(would a "good tree" get upset about handwashing to the degree that they would disagree completely with everything you said? would a "good tree" let a small disagreement cloud their thoughts to the point of murderous intent in order to silence?) certainly there is earnestly contending for the faith once for all delivered to the saints and having to explain and/or defend every little peripheral notion/"doctrine".

"What spirtual message can one receive from this story."
the pharisee's should have believed it was possible for a lowly sheperd to become a great king...but they would have nothing of the sort when Jesus the lowly carpenter came into their midst.

Jesus antagonized (by speaking the truth) the pharisees with every empty debate that they wanted to drag Him into...it seemed to be His way of making them listen to themselves while teaching His on-lookers at the same time. so maybe...WWJD...

you said: "To me, anyone that constantly tries to tear down another's beliefs is EXACTLY like the WT organization and should be reflecting the mirror back onto themselves."
isn't that EXACTLY what Jesus did before He started to build up His church on the Truth?
