it used to for me, and now it doesn't.. i'm not sure how i was able to accept that argument now that i don't, but perhaps it was connected with my increasing compassion for people and their personal suffering as i've grown older.. now it seems like a sick excuse.
more like a bar-bet with satan and all of creation suffers.. i read paul's words and he has no rejoiner except to say in effect "sucks to be a vessel of wrath...glad i'm not one, but who are you to complain anyway, huh?
who's bigger, smarter and more powerful than you, you, you complaining vessel of wrath, you.

dear Tammy...
God is an exacting God...each human is worth something, a lot in fact, that is why He called for sacrifices for their sins. The pharisees taught this that is why they tithed right down to the exact amount of spice. they were exacting too...but they didn't practice love and mercy knowing full well in their hearts that no one could keep the law exactly.
this doesn't change the fact that God is exacting. that is why Jesus came...so that He could pay the price for each of us individually.
think of a set of scales Gods exacting standards on one side and you on the other. you don't believe the systematictheology that says Jesus will be on your side balancing out the scales.
This is the interpretation of each word. MENE: God has numbered your kingdom, and finished it; TEKEK: You have been weighed in the balances, and found wanting...PERES: Your kingdom has been divided, and given to the Medes and Persians. daniel 5:26-27
BECAUSE: "Then they brought the gold vessels that had been taken from the temple of the house of God which had been in Jerusalem(the City of Truth, zech 2:5); and the king and his lords, his wives, and his concubines drank from them. They drank wine, and praised the gods of gold and silver, bronze and iron, wood and stone." daniel 5:3-4

you said:"See, that's the interesting thing about putting one's faith in the Bible, Michelle... and Paul. Because (1) you are misapply this verse, and (2) about a year after Paul wrote the above to the Corinthians, he wrote the following to the Romans:
Therefore those in union with Christ Jesus have no condemnation. For the law of that spirit which gives life in union with Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death. Romans 8:1, 2
While it is true that all WILL stand before the Judgment Seat, not ALL will do so in order to be judged. "
don't be so quick to read something into what I wrote in order to show me wrong...we ALL stand before the judgement seat...those in Jesus Christ will be judged in order to determine the rewards for their service NOT condemnation. (rev 4:4) and because only the Lamb is worthy all the saints crowns will be thrown towards the throne as an act of homage to the King of Kings while He is praised.
...if you don't trust the bible that my Lord GOD provided then don't trust it to help YOU get YOUR lord's message across...your hypocrisy is tedious.

you said: "The God of Christianity struggles against Evil. Why? Soverign Godship would never allow it to happen in the first place."...
the jewish apocrypha talks about several levels (dimentions?) of heaven as does the NT writer paul and Jesus said that He saw satan himself fall from heaven like lightening.
God is Sovereign in highest heaven...where He can't look upon evil because it is reprehensible.
so this, and the fact that Jesus is given all authority over heaven and earth, points to the the issue of Universal Sovereignty being "contractually" signed and sealed but not delivered or implemented yet because delivery would mean a need for instant elimination of evil and God WANTS to wait because His "stated" will is that all "men" might be saved. (rev 11:15-19)

dear Tammy...
in the scripture that I quoted the alter is the Truth and the temple is the body which makes the sacrifice of service...
Fools and blind! For which is greater, the gold or the temple that sanctifies the gold? And, ‘Whoever swears by the altar, it is nothing; but whoever swears by the gift that is on it, he is obliged to perform it.’ Fools and blind! For which is greater, the gift or the altar that sanctifies the gift? Therefore he who swears by the altar, swears by it and by all things on it. He who swears by the temple, swears by it and by Him who dwells [b] in it. And he who swears by heaven, swears by the throne of God and by Him who sits on it. matthew 23:17-22
Jesus is comparing...swearing by the Truth is nothing but swearing by the gift(love/works) is obliged to preform it...then He asks which is greater the gift(love/works) or the alter (Truth) the cause of the sacrifice of the gift. He goes on to say in the positive of the other one, whoever swears by the Truth, swears by it and by all things. as well, he swears by the temple(body which houses the Truth)...and by extention, heaven, the throne of God and Him who sits on it.
basicly...one says that showing love/gift as a form of works is better than the Truth...and by swearing by the gift, is obliged to perform it. but Jesus asks, which is greater?
the other one swears by the Truth and by everything he does (love and works) and by that he is swearing by all things of God.
the whole text is condensed in james 2:18...the Holy Spirit showed me that last night...
you said: (which is to say that there are as many intepretations of this book as their are denominations of Christianity)....of course this is a grosse exageration and so it isn't true.
you said: "Instead, because he did not say what you wanted him to say (which is to condemn me with his words), then you judge him as lying in full knowledge to God and in danger of dropping dead? "...it was a teaching moment like I said, why do you accuse me of wanting Vander to drop dead?...I'm not showing you this stuff because I want to harm anyone(preaching the truth about the Truth IS part of my faith)...for the most part I have quoted scripture...the words of Jesus Christ word for word and have stayed well within "THE FAITH" delivered once for all to the saints (without showing bias towards any "denomination")...but you have done nothing but reject anything I've said wholesale...which begs the question, why DO you believe anything in the bible if it offends you so much?

p.s. if the nations/world leads you to believe in diplomacy you will in turn try and lead others to believe in diplomacy. if the person is led to believe in the Truth and is convicted of "the truth" by the Holy Spirit then they also have to lead other people to the Truth to be convicted of "the truth" by the Holy Spirit...revelation 13:9-10

dear MrFreeze...
you said:" I would say that those who are mentally disadvantaged are more prone to having their minds molded by other people. Is it really them believing in God or is it the influence around them?"...my answer would be: depending on the individual and their handicap they can be trusting a caregiver and honestly believeing in God or they can be ones that aren't held responsible for their choices or actions at all because of a significant barrier to "emotional" freedom.
the bible says and I believe and have said recently that God would be merciful to people like that...based on His standard, which is Truth. ie. if you have never heard about God and you are an evil person...you would be judged on the evil you do/think.(you are a law unto yourself)
having Jesus Christ as your Saviour doesn't preclude you from judgement AT ALL...all believers will stand before the judgement seat(2 cor 5:10) knowing this we are admonished and helped to present ourselves acceptable to a Holy God.(romans 12:1-2)

dear Tammy and Vander...
The United Nations doesn't work. why? because the majority of people believe that diplomacy works for reasonable people but not everyone in a leadership position is reasonable.
I think that you, Tammy are trying to bring "the nations" together with diplomacy...But Jesus kingdom is no part of this world and no one can be brought into it through diplomacy. Jesus said that you are brought into His eternal kingdom by believeing that He will bring you into it.
Vander, I think you are trying to bring Tammy into the kingdom by being diplomatic too...you have bought into the idea that you can bring people into the church by being diplomatic...but you can't bring anyone into the church...the Holy Spirit adds to the church.(acts 2:38,acts 2:47) He adds to the church by convicting people of what Jesus said: (john 8:24, john 6:47)
these ideas that "we" can somehow bring about the peace that surpasses understanding are anti-christ. (revelation 13:1-18)...Jesus alone is the Prince of Peace.(Isaiah 9:6-7), (acts 2:40)
I thank God for His mercy and love in bringing us this Ananias and Sapphira teaching "moment"...and obviously none of us would know what THAT is without the bible.(acts 5:4)
Vander, can you see how you can be likened to Ananias to Tammy's Sapphira and vice versa?
you must not swear by the gold(love) on the alter...but by the alter(Truth) itself...(matthew 23:17-22)
