NAILING DOWN the fraud of John 1:1 by demonstration
by TerryWalstrom incall me crazy, but i love to watch seminary classes when sharp teachers are in charge of the instruction.. in the following video, the teacher really nails jehovah's witnesses on john 1:1 with utter simplicity.. begin at 1 hour and 20 minutes in.. i've never seen or heard of this before.. .

Wasn't the professor trying to make the point that no translations should say "and the Word was God"...a literal translation is "and God was the Word" and that is what both the W&H and the KJ should say? -

I prefer to take his word for how it came about and he said an angel told him to recite. Eventually he said he stopped meeting the angel in the cave and he said that the words of koran just came to him.
The reason I asked if JD thought that mohammad was capable of interpretation of the words of the koran is because that is a component of the hadiths. The context of the verse being "recited" includes Mohammad's interpretation.
Quran (4:95) - "Not equal are those believers who sit (at home) and receive no hurt, and those who strive and fight in the cause of Allah with their goods and their persons. Allah hath granted a grade higher to those who strive and fight with their goods and persons than to those who sit (at home). Unto all (in Faith) Hath Allah promised good: But those who strive and fight Hath He distinguished above those who sit (at home) by a special reward,-" This passage criticizes "peaceful" Muslims who do not join in the violence, letting them know that they are less worthy in Allah's eyes. It also demolishes the modern myth that "Jihad" doesn't mean holy war in the Quran, but rather a spiritual struggle. Not only is the Arabic word used in this passage, but it is clearly not referring to anything spiritual, since the physically disabled are given exemption. (The Hadith reveals the context of the passage to be in response to a blind man's protest that he is unable to engage in Jihad and this is reflected in other translations of the verse).

JD...
the koran was given to mohammad. Do you think that he had the capacity to interpret it correctly?

dear JD...
you said, "Why would they desire to look into something which has the sole purpose of demonstrating and showing how gods will was both fulfilled and will be fulfilled? You're saying they already know this, but the bible is showing that they know no more than we do, and the gospel was revealed to man, not Angels- as the word means they long to have, or covet, WHAT THEY DO NOT POSESS."
the bible doesn't say that the angels don't know the gospel. Yes, the gospel of Christ was revealed to men but that doesn't preclude the angels hearing it too, not at all. That's why they rejoice when someone accepts the gospel of salvation...(perhaps you are of the opinion that the angels are a bunch of dumb, dumbs cheering for they know not what?)
Why would the angels desire to look into something (the gospel) if they already knew? is what you asked me (i think)
First of all I want to be clear that I agree with you that the angels don't know anymore about the gospel than the apostles. That doesn't mean they know less either.
why do WE desire to look into something (the bible) when we already "know"?...because we tend to focus on something we appreciate, love and have a passion for. (like a deer pants after water)To that extent man can covet the word of God too but it doesn't mean at all that we don't know what it says.

I never said the angels know more than men do...I said that when the mystery of the ages was revealed in Christ, God's angels became aware of the gospel of Christ. They knew what the apostles knew.
ummm...The Gospel was spoken. The angels didn't have to "look into" God's word. We're even told to be hospitable to strangers because they could be God's angels. What do you do with the angel in rev. who preaches the everlasting gospel? Or the angels who rejoice when someone accepts the gospel of salvation?
To those who heard but didn't understand it was said that their heart was veiled...the fallen angels heard but didn't understand either. Thats why some 300 and some years later the jinn in the koran said that they didn't know what was happening...but they admitted that their company had taken divergent paths.

Because you misinterpret one scripture (saying it says the angels continually desire to look into what was the mystery of Christ) and connect it with another one that isn't even about the gospel but the day and the hour.
you mishandle the text and "lol" because I disagree...wow

dear JD...
the angels don't know the gospel because they don't know the day or the hour? who do you bridge these two scriptures?
Once Jesus was born in the flesh the angels knew...gabriel announced to mary what was going to take place, angels were at the tomb, revelation has an angel preaching the everlasting gospel and all God's angels know that it is Jesus who is the "head of all principality and power"...up until Christ the prophets AND angels desired to look into what would be the outworking of God's plan...the scripture you quoted doesn't affirm that God's angels are unable (to this day) to look into the gospel. God's angels were able to understand the gospel at the time of Christ, like the apostles they knew the "mystery" because it HAD BEEN revealed in Christ. Now, if the jinn or angels speaking in the koran (which came after the bible) didn't understand the gospel it's reasonable to conclude they are fallen angels in the same camp as those who, if they had known who Jesus was, wouldn't have crucified the Lord of Glory. colossians 2:10, 2:15

dear JD...
you said, "No... Again you miss the point. As the Quran says itself, it is meant to be taken with the bible. The bible tells Jesus story, the Quran would not retell it because it was already told... I won't say it again.."..."The people of the book are Christians, and what was revealed to them is the New Testament. The Quran has spoken for itself yet again."...
now, this IS interesting...In the koran it says (there is no indication of whether Allah is relaying the words of the jinn[angels] or whether Allah is speaking for himself. the ones speaking have this to say)
koran 72:1...the jinn hear what is "the koran" and rejoice.koran 72:10-11...the jinn don't know what God has in store for the earth or whether God even intends to lead them in right conduct...and admit that their "company" take divergent paths.
in the bible God makes it quite clear what His plans are for both the earth and mankind. The only "jinn" that aren't in on the plan are the fallen angels and those they "inspire".
