the wts & its various corporations are a behemoth, rudderless ship with no one at the helm; only concerned with self-preservation.
the result is an inflexible organization slow to make change and not interested in the welfare & rights of individual members.. the internet and boards such as this allow for excellent communication and freedom of information.. because the internet is free and provides relative anonymity it has proven to be one of the greatest threats to the wts.. the wts leaders could be proactive and act in an ethical way, but they'd rather react when a perceived "threat" arises -- telling members to avoid the internet, shun family members, do more/stay busy, and so on.. as jt used to say, "i love this 'net thang".

we just took ours down last night!
the first "after-wts" year that we celebrated christmas, i left everything up until the 7th of january!
it doesn't seem like we've enjoyed them long enough!.
Our decorations are still up and will be until my Ukranian guy is quite sure that this "family tradition" is held on to for future generations. That's all fine, but... when is Ukranian Christmas over already?

God noticed the tower, but seemed to put more emphesis on the people themselves, in that, He saw that there were many of them and He even seemed to praise them when He said that they could do anything that they put their mind to. I think that perhaps He was saying that they might be "ready" to be sent out in groups to fulfill His mandate to populate the WHOLE earth. They were, according to the account, one big group that was quite settled, and that was contrary to what God wanted or needed to fulfill His plan. I say this because I don't see God as being "mean" or anything of the sort in this account.

i must admit that as a jw i never really swallowed this belief maybe because i was so young when i was really a staunch jw.
i would have born-again christians tell me that it was impossible for jesus and michael to be the same person and that jw's invented this doctrine.
fast forward to 2004 while i was reading a book on jesus i noticed that some of the early church fathers thought michael was jesus christ i almost fell out of my chair.
