Isaiah 54:6-8

For the LORD has called you like a woman forsaken and grieved in spirit, like a youthful wife when you were refused, says your God. For a mere moment I have forsaken you, but with great mercies I WILL GATHER YOU. With a little wrath I hid My face from you for a moment; but with everlasting kindness I will have mercy on you says the LORD, your Redeemer.

Isaiah 66:12-14

For thus says the LORD:

"Behold, I will extend peace to her like a river, and glory of the Gentiles like a flowing stream. Then you shall feed; On her sides shall YOU be carried, and be dangled on her knees. As one whom his mother comforts, so I will comfort You; AND YOU SHALL BE COMFORTED IN JERUSALEM." When YOU see THIS, your heart shall rejoice, and your bones shall flourish like grass; the hand of the LORD shall be known to His servants, and His indignation to His enemies

God has called His wife back from the nations, to Israel, (the BANNER). It is a sign to His servants in the nations, your redemption draws near. imo.

They all had one thing in common: they were wrong.

seattleniceguy, if you count yourself as one "in this generation", how can you say that WE are wrong, since your end has not come?

I do think however, to be honest, that if the Lord hasn't returned in the next 100 years, we were wrong about this being the generation.

what happens when an organization claiming to be the only ones who speak for god has its veil pulled back so that many, perhaps for the first time, see the fallible humanity behind the claim?

you said...Now I feel that we are within him and he is within us. I believe there is a scripture that says that somewhere. I see him more as a reflection of Jesus than at anytime before.

one scripture I particularily like is this...John 15:4 Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.

There have been disasters and wars since the beginning of time.

my BF said this to me last night. my reply was, yes but,.... there has not always been a state of Israel.

Israel was reborn as a nation on May 15, 1948 when the United Nations recognised the state of Israel. This is a fulfillment of Isaiah 66:8

"Who has heard such a thing?

Who has seen such things?

Shall the earth be MADE to give birth in one day?

Or a nation be born at once?

For as soon as Zion travailed,

she gave birth to her children.

And as reasurrance that this is ordained by God we read on in verse 9...Shall I bring to the time of birth, and not cause delivery? says the LORD.......

This is sad but so true. I blame the WBTS for destroying faith in God.

Luther believed that the Catholic church played alternatly upon fear and hope. God was popularily displayed not as a loving Father but as a terrifying Judge, and Christ not as a tender sheperd but as the Great Avenger. The role of compassion was assigned rather to the Virgin Mary and the saints.Gods and Christs favor must be won by honoring the virgin mary and the saints .

The same can be said for the WBTS in this age. In order to gain favor with God one must obey the WBTS or die at the hands of the Great Avenger. There can be no middle ground in their eyes. Because of this, some people tend to avoid the whole issue of God and let any faith in God that they had in the beginning to fade to non existance or to begin to hate God or deny Him all together. In this regard I believe that the WBTS has blood on their hands, in that many have died in this state. Not reconsiled with their heavenly Father. Shame on the WBTS.
