  Does the Issue of Universal Sovereignty make sense to you as an explanation for evil?

  it used to for me, and now it doesn't.. i'm not sure how i was able to accept that argument now that i don't, but perhaps it was connected with my increasing compassion for people and their personal suffering as i've grown older.. now it seems like a sick excuse.

  dear Tammy...

  on your other thread about faith and the bible you said lots of things, but you didn't agree with the teaching found in john 8:24 and you made the decision that you didn't need to teach it yourself. this teaching is grounded in the Truth(mark 1:14-15)...are you saying that the Holy Spirit hasn't convicted you of this truth? also who is your Lord and Saviour...why couldn't/didn't He tell you His name?

  to be convicted of this truth and then deny it applies to others as well is blasphemy against the Holy Spirit...that is why I said your answer was very important(yes, the bible declares that God is going to merciful to those who haven't heard the gospel{they are a law unto themselves}...but still thinking has heard the gospel and made the decision to reject...it is possible to come to a decision a day too late)

  personal salvation changes things...all those things about you that we think are righteous are but filthy rags if they don't procede from the indwelling Truth AS fruit of the Spirit.

  I'm not surprised that AGuest has remained quiet in helping you understand your error...is this a continuation of her plan to see as many people (as she can convince) take the bread and wine in an unworthy manner? Like earlier this year just before the memorial she encouraged people to go to the halls and take and eat and drink...without even confessing Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour. She encouraged people to get in on the ritual without the commitment. This is only a different twist on the blasphemous heresy the WTBTS teaches.

  if you are a sinner you will die in your sins if you don't trust that Jesus Christ pays the penalty for you...you have said that the one who you listen to is loving and merciful and you seemed to have implied it your other thread that you (or anyone else )don't have to believe this simple truth stated by Jesus in john 8:24.

  on this thread (alone) you have have tried to deflect criticisim on to others while you give the go-ahead to AGuest's abuse towards others while she is speaking in the name of her lord.

  You have become foolish in panting after her...and you seem to have no problem being deceptive yourself if it means not offending AGuest.

  The Jesus portrayed in the bible (and the Jesus I have come to know) is more merciful, loving and humble than her lord has her go about engageing in her ministry. the Holy Spirit helps Jesus' servants to be conformed to His image.(fruit of the Spirit)

  let me ask you...does Jesus bring (and the bible teach) the "gospel of salvation in Jesus Christ" or "the gospel of love in Jesus Christ"?...are you willing to deny Jesus Christ supreme authority over your life because you think that your own concept of love is the way to gauge His concept of love?

  do you know that by teaching the love of Jesus Christ and completely forgoing the need of repentance and salvation in Jesus Christ you will be held accountable for their being deceived?...that's something to think about.

  Faith and the Bible

  for those of us who must walk by sight (for now), there is nothing wrong with using the bible to help learn about christ and god... as long as ... you look to christ first and foremost and over anything else.

  otherwise, i do not see the point in saying you follow christ or you are a christian.

  he is the truth.

  God is an exacting God...each human is worth something, a lot in fact, that is why He called for sacrifices for their sins. The pharisees taught this that is why they tithed right down to the exact amount of spice. they were exacting too...but they didn't practice love and mercy knowing full well in their hearts that no one could keep the law exactly.

  this doesn't change the fact that God is exacting. that is why Jesus came...so that He could pay the price for each of us individually.

  think of a set of scales Gods exacting standards on one side and you on the other. you don't believe the systematictheology that says Jesus will be on your side balancing out the scales.

  This is the interpretation of each word. MENE: God has numbered your kingdom, and finished it; TEKEK: You have been weighed in the balances, and found wanting...PERES: Your kingdom has been divided, and given to the Medes and Persians. daniel 5:26-27

  BECAUSE: "Then they brought the gold vessels that had been taken from the temple of the house of God which had been in Jerusalem(the City of Truth, zech 2:5); and the king and his lords, his wives, and his concubines drank from them.They drank wine, and praised the gods of gold and silver, bronze and iron, wood and stone." daniel 5:3-4

  don't be so quick to read something into what I wrote in order to show me wrong...we ALL stand before the judgement seat...those in Jesus Christ will be judged in order to determine the rewards for their service NOT condemnation. (rev 4:4) and because only the Lamb is worthy all the saints crowns will be thrown towards the throne as an act of homage to the King of Kings while He is praised.

  ...if you don't trust the bible that my Lord GOD provided then don't trust it to help YOU get YOUR lord's message across...your hypocrisy is tedious.
