Schoolyard bully mentality
by FusionTheism ini'm not naming names, but i just want to encourage people on here or on reddit or twitter, and tell you that you do not have to tolerate people who act like schoolyard bullies in the way they speak to you online.
i think anonymity is a big part of it.
they feel like there is zero accountability so they can be a bully all they want.. i recommend just ignoring or blocking anyone who is verbally abusive or treats you like schoolyard bullies treated you.. life is way too short to spend any time dealing with those kinds of people..

McKinney Texas pool party?
by Marvin Shilmer inso today i was asked my thoughts on the pool party incident in mcminney, texas.
my response: it shows a clash of expectations.
i saw police officers who expected citizens to listen to and follow instructions.

Again, an investigation was performed and the individuals found the officer lacking so judgement was rendered. We should accept the results of the internal investigation.
After all, we were commanded before to accept the outcome of investigations in these types of matters in regards to other cases. Why not this one?

What constitutes attempts at intimidation on here exactly? If you do not mind me asking? -

I didn't decide he was wrong. His boss did.
A medley of trained professionals did as well.
We can try to explain why what he did was justified but trained professionals that had to make a decision said what he did was well below standards. The police chief said after an internal investigation these are the findings. Do you no longer agree with internal investigations or only when they go against what you want them to be?
What does white or black have to do with this SIMON? You are interjecting race in this thread and you are the race baiter here. Nearly everyone has said from the beginning this has nothing to do with race but the fact that this officer went overboard.
The final 5 sentences of your post show your true colors. That is repulsive.
I will leave this alone because you look like you are about to go on one of your epic angry old white man rants.
Thanks, and bye

I like the fact that so many professionals stated the fact that POLICE receive training to be professional regardless of how bad the situation gets. This officer was not able to control himself so he was in error.
Professionals and his colleagues agree. So being mad at the criminals serves no purpose. They were idiots. The officers job was to be professional. He wasn't. Now he is gone.

"I do think they say things that they wouldn't say if they were face to face with you, and they can be belittling and argumentative."
Atheist here as well but I think LISAROSE makes an excellent point. The theist threads make me chuckle however I do remember a time when I was one as well. It hurt to start coming to grips with the fact that I had been wrong for a large part of my life. I was hoping that people here would understand. Instead the ridicule was pretty steep, not towards me but towards a lot of others.
There are also some here who have devoted a long time to evolutionary and biological studies and it becomes apparent that they try to use there knowledge not as tool to help someone come to a conclusion but more like a weapon. Not all but some. They usually start off nice then descend into brow-beatery (my word). I have done so as well.
The problem is the word choice that they use are words that they would NEVER say to a persons face. EVER because they know what the end result would be. However, that is the nature of the internet and truthfully, I don't really mind it so much because people need an outlet.

I didn't say it was racial. I said it was about an out of control officer as well. Here is the kicker. It's admitted the officer was way out of line but it is as if justice wasn't done and his resignation was unnecessary. Somehow people want to make excuses for him.
there is a reason there is a general disrespect for authority in this country. The police have a history of abuse in this country. Cellphones are capturing it now and it's being brought into the forefront as it should be.
police also have to respect authority. Many of them do not so they must pay. I like the full story as well but honestly the fact that there was criminal activity has nothing to do with a police officer overreacting.
im not being comparative here by the way

It doesn't matter where it comes from. It was just apparent that there was an agenda there.
The point of his story is not wether they come from section 8 or are black. Doesn't matter if they were there illegally. The point of the story is the out of control officer. The other officers did their job. Everything else is background noise used to distract people from the issue.

The Religion Of Rejection - And Now That Includes Me
by dubstepped indue to some recent developments i find myself in a new place, and at this point i've lost all of my family and fri....oh that's right, i never really had any friends in the organization anyway.
just people that wanted something from me and a few people that i would invite to do things that occasionally said yes.
the recent rejections of me got me thinking, so let's take a rejection inventory.. i had to reject all of the holidays when my parents started studying.. i had to reject any worldly friends that i already had.. even family became rejected, and the new religion had some place in that.. i was rejected in school and bullied all of the time, not just because we were poor and i made good grades, but for jw reasons too.
