I have always believed that the return of Americanized illegals back to their home country (in this case Mexico) could be the one element that causes the corrupt Mexican government to collapse. This is why the Mexican government is so adamant in their opposition to the pro-border security activists, and the laws that many groups have been able to put on the books. How can the Mexican government keep the peasantry down if their families who have resided (illegally in many cases) in the United and tasted the freedom of the capitalist system?

I'm happy for George. However the Vulcan salute at the end of his statement in front of the West Hollywood city hall was a bit much.

CAN OBAMA BE PRESIDENT?
by Perry ini just received this email.
i don't see this flying for this election, but if obama wins, it might open the door for changing laws in the future concerning who can be eligible for the presidency and who cannot.
old, at the time of barack obama's birth for him to have been a. natural-born citizen.

There are a number of reasons to NOT vote for Senator Obama, his citizenship is NOT one of them.

For those that remember my wife was attacked and nearly raped back in March. Yesterday, was the preliminary hearing for the "alleged" attacker. My wife had to relive that morning in front of that bastard once again. Needless to say she came through with flying colors, the slowly turning wheels of justice are turning.
When this "alleged" attacker was led in hands shackled to his waste, my wife gripped my hand so firmly that my fingers turned white. The "alleged" attacker is a large male. He looked fairly yoked (probably from daily weight lifting). In seeing this bastard for the first time, I was struck that my 5 foot tall, 100 lb. wife could fight off this 6 ft. tall 200-plus male.
As she began testifying, my own anger began to well up, and I wanted to leap over the low partition that separates the gallery from the lawyers, and defendant, and beat that cowardly bastard's skull into a mash of brain and bone. I guess my anger was becoming visible because the Victim's Advocate staffer, who accompanied my wife to this proceeding tapped me on the arm, and asked if I was OK.
My wife said that once she stepped off the stand, she felt as if a huge burden had been lifted off her shoulders. I am so proud of her. She had second thoughts about testifying so many times over the past few months, but finally went through with it. I knew she was a strong woman, but the amount of strength I saw from her yesterday raised my already high respect for her higher. -

One Reason Why I Worship the God of the Bible
by snowbird inwhile this may be construed as a rebuttal to nvr's thread re: why i post about atheism, that is not my intent.. it is my intent, however, to show how i developed a belief in and love for the god of the bible.. my paternal grandfather, who died before i was born, was a baptist preacher, so you could say i cut my teeth on the bible.
i loved having it read to me, and once i learned how, reading it for myself.
i'm convinced that spirituality runs deep in my blood.. i've always had such a strong sense of right and wrong that injustices make me literally sick.

I have stayed out of this thread because so many of the atheists on this board have taken the Hitchens method. Basically it is to not debate, but instead to throw vile and disgusting insults at Christians. That's fine. I do not respond to that sort of attack. If an atheist wishes to discuss the existence of God in civilized and gracious manner then I will participate.
Perry, your 63 theses seem to be dead on. I can tell by the vicious and ungracious responses they have garnered. Good job! -

"The Intelligent Design camp want to create the illusion that there is a debate. The point is that there is NO scientific debate, but political."
No, the Evolutionist camp does not want ID, because a free exchange of ideas would crumble their atheistic worldview, that creation is not the product of randomness, but of a creative intelligence. There is scientific debate over this issue, sadly it is the evolutionists that are kicking dissenters out of their "sandbox", very much like a petulant 3 year old. There is scientific debate, as Ben Stein's Expelled has clearly demonstrated. The issue is whether or not evolutionists will allow their presuppositions and worldview to be questioned. The issue is political, I'll grant that, but the issue is still up for grabs in areas of academia that allow a free exchange of thought, which is what academia is supposedly about...the free exchange of ideas. -
