It was a dream of mine... a dream that there is a woman who actually sees the good in me. Who doesn't judge... doesn't bring her own personal baggage when looking at me. A woman who doesn't bring along her own personal judge and jury.

My question is this: are you willing to go into a relationship looking for the good and past her baggage and hurt?

Just something I've been reading lately helped me to see that I've got to be willing to work past the negatives that initially jump out in order to get deep down into the positives.

Anyway...thanks for sharing...that's a pretty profound statement. (here's to hoping it wasn't a line...)

the details of who to send a gift to will be getting pm'd to you all either friday afternoon or saturday morning!

according to the information i've found online the last posting day for standard parcels is dec 11th for usa and december 15th for the uk/europe, so you should all have plenty of time to select and send a gift, although sending sooner rather than later is prefered.

can everyone taking part post on this thread what things they like, what their interests are etc so that the person who is buying a gift for you has some idea what to get you.

I believed the whole pack of crap! In fact, last year was a particularly bad year for me, and I thought for sure that Jehovah was allowing me to be tried, so that I could be stronger later. WHATEVA! I feel a little crazy now, and when my family calls me to tell me things like "Satan is really busy, and he's happy you're not serving Jehovah" I can't help but roll my eyes and wonder WHY I EVER LET THAT WORK ON ME!

Do you tend to feel "smarter" or more "enlightened" now?

Good one! There was actually an idiot in Oregon that was throwing out anything to do Democratic. So, to a degree this one is true.

I guess you can tell them that if they have any problem at all with the way things are going on in the country, then it's their obligation to at least TRY to make a difference. One small way to do that is simply to register to vote. That way, your complaints are remotely heard in the number on Election night. Even if Bush steals it again, you know that you had a small part in being one notch on the other side.

Did You Believe EVERYTHING On The News Was Prophecy Being Fulfilled?

were you one of those witnesses that believed everything written in a newspaper or viewed on the news was a fulfillment of bible prophecy?

you know--the type that always had newspaper clippings in your pocket, anxious to show the "friends" how this looks like the "cry for peace and security"?......you know the type i mean......

I've always watched the news and would equate some things to Bible prophecy. (Never carried clippings, MUCH too nerdy!) When ones like Bush or before him Clinton would say the actual words "peace and security" I'd get a sinking feeling in my stomach.

I'm still fading, and probably soon to be d'fed if I don't d'a myself first, but I have a question, how have you who used to think that way dealt with the whole "end of the world" crap? (Sorry if this takes us off subject. If you move the thread remind me, ok?)

Probably. From Oct 18 til sometime in Nov. they are on the "campaign" to save lives! All my freakin' relatives let me know that they will be sending me one. Great...my life will finally be complete.

Name Silly Reasons JWs Get Disfellowshipped

i know an argument can be made that any reason is unjustifiable but i'm thinking more of the dumbest reasons.

for example, if 2 "witnesses" saw you buy a lottery ticket, you could be df'd for "greediness"......any others??

I'm sure there were many JWs disfellowshipped for having oral sex with their spouses--I know of one in our congregation. Voting is a big NO NO--I was kicked out for that crime.

Interesting...guess that's my ticket out since I got my ballot just this weekend! Schweet!
