witness find it silly that catholics have statues or a crucifix, and that some will look at these while talking to jesus in prayer.. the bottom line is, althought you're a christian, you can't even pray to jesus or even say thank-you for anything to jesus.. imagine if an apostle would still be alive today, and although he talked to jesus when he was on earth, and all of a sudden after jesus's death, that apostle wouldn't be allowed to even talk to him in prayer, basically shunning him for the last 2000 years.. when jesus died 2000 years ago, did the apostles just shun him from that day like the jw's want us to do, by only praying jehovah?.
All of the following is pretty nauseating, but am I reading the high-lighted portion wrong, or does the WTS actually consider the anointed to be some sort of joint-mediators with Jesus in the realm of prayer as well as worship?

Paul confirms what comprises the right approach to God and what the temple is that Jehovah inhabits by spirit to receive the prayers of his worshipers: "Through him [Jesus Christ] we, both peoples, have the approach to the Father by one spirit. . . . you [the anointed ones] have been built up upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, while Christ Jesus himself is the foundation cornerstone. In union with him the whole building, being harmoniously joined together, is growing into a holy temple for Jehovah. In union with him you, too, are being built up together into a place for God to inhabit by spirit." (Eph. 2:18, 20-22) A remaining part of that new, spiritual temple still operates on the earth to this day. Such remnant of anointed ones serves as a channel through which a "great crowd" from all nations are rendering Jehovah God" sacred service day and night in his temple."—Rev. 7:9, 15.ISAIAH
FORESEES GRAND FLOW OF SACRED SERVICE8
For these final days upon Satan’s wicked world of mankind the prophet Isaiah foresaw an earth-wide flow of worshipers coming into association with Jehovah’s spiritual house, many members of which are now standing on the heavenly Zion. (Rev. 14:1) The anointed remnant who make up the visible portion of Jehovah’s temple are thus seen to be high up in Jehovah’s favor since the year 1919 (Rev. 11:12), and they elevate the worship of Jehovah God, putting it high above all other considerations on earth. This is just as long ago foretold: "And it must occur in the final part of the days that the mountain of the house of Jehovah will become firmly established above the top of the mountains, and it will certainly be lifted up above the hills; and to it all the nations must stream. And many peoples will certainly go and say: ‘Come, you people, and let us go up to the mountain of Jehovah, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will instruct us about his ways, and we will walk in his paths.’ For out of Zion law will go forth, and the word of Jehovah out of Jerusalem."—Isa. 2:2, 3.9
All the above-described vast throng of worshipers come as dedicated ones well instructed in Jehovah’s theocratic requirements. They do not come empty-handed without gifts for their loving God. Rather, they come full of pleasing ‘sacrifices of praise,’ full of right public declarations that they have learned how to make through Jehovah’s anointed ones still on earth. (Heb. 13:15) Yes, these "foreigners" out of the nations have "joined themselves to Jehovah" by making a dedication in association with the anointed remnant of spiritual Israel. (Zech. 8:23; Gal. 6:16) All these of the "great crowd" from the nations also come to offer their prayers through Jehovah’s temple arrangement.

Not to mention, their interpretation of Ephesians 2:18-22 is totally skewed

now, i think "stupid".
What first popped into my mind were scenes from Metropolis:
Putting in more time...must put in more time...
This doesn't apply ato JWs per se, but to the WTS and their
secret affiliation with you-know-who...

after the distastful and depression memorial at the kingdom hall last wednesday night, i guess i just felt the need to go somewhere else this morning for easter so i drove around.......i was going to go to the presbyterian church but the service wasn't untill 11:00am....ditto for the lutheran and united churches too, so i ended up going to the catholic church (of all places!
) because the service started at 9:30am.
never been to a catholic service before, (except for one wedding and one funeral years ago).
My daughter and I went today too (although we missed the Sunrise Service that was held in a private home with breakfast afterward). It was really nice.
We just started going recently, out of curiosity, to a small Presbyterian Church with a female pastor and mostly elderly parishioners. I had never been anywhere other than a KH before.
A lady pasted out little bundles of jellybeans with a written Easter blessing attached. Services opened with "Passing the Peace of Christ" which meant everyone getting up and greeting each other with hugs and handshakes. And no one seemed to mind when my little one played musical chairs and took turns sitting by different people right at first.
Then I reined her in and she sat munching jelly beans and colouring in the colouring books provided in the back for kids. It was a lovely and loving service. A girl with a beautiful voice sang a song from Yentl. At the end of her sermon, the pastor told a story that made a few people (including herself) cry. We received communion, then ended, as always, with everyone holding hands in an unbroken chain and singing, "I'm so glad I'm part of the family of God..."
I never thought I would, but I quite like going to church(Of course I never thought I would be a Christian of any kind either, but that's another story)

i realize that randy watters is not the type of person to want to worry others, especially when it come to his own health.
and i also realize that randy might want to kick me in the backsides for posting this little message.
thats ok, i'll even buy him a new set of boots to kick me with, but for right now if we could take a few moments to send our prayers, thoughts, and perhaps ecards for randy's swift recovery, then i know that randy would certainly appreciate it .dear friends of randy, due to some complications from a pain medication randy was using during an attack of his crohn's disease last week, he became seriously dehydrated and was hospitalized this past thursday, april 13th.
"City of Refuge"
Amen, Gumby. Randy's site has been just that for so many!

we watched the tv show, 'the amazing race' (the couple i didn't like finally got the boot), ate take out chinese food, and had a relaxing night.
my mom, aunts and inlaws all went, poor souls, we prayed for them.
I was home with the stomach flu which is still preferable to a memorial at the KH

can anyone out there scan from the first chapter of what does the bible really teach book?
it is a newer publication.
aparently on another thread, chapter one explains why questions are good to ask of your religion.
Did you find it LadyL? I couldn't find it there, but maybe I'm just tired...I have the book and can scan for you, but, looking it over, I don't see much. I have scanned the first 2 pages of Ch.1 so you can take a look, but photobucket is unavailable at the moment.
