Do you believe in perfection?
Looking at YOU I do, dahling
...oh, but wait...you have two hands and only one mouth
...not so perfect afterall, I guess...*sigh*

if something meets the standard for which it was designed, is that a reasonable definition of perfection?.
like when the first rudimentary wheel was built, and was surely perfect for the job?.

yeee haaa!
i'm an outlaw now!
the elders warned me that if any i talk about anything said in the judicial committee or post any pictures i've taken, i'm in big trouble and i don't want these people as enimies!
God forgave them and made stuff right! Why are ya'll not doing that?
Because...we're not God?
And anyway, it isn't so much about the elders themselves, IMO, but the corrupt organization they represent. They're just the tip of the iceberg.
For one thing they (the Society and the elders) rarely, if ever, admit to the R&F their specific errors and ask for forgiveness. And the forgiveness thing works both ways. Why don't the elders just forgive human error and make stuff right instead of doing the garbage they do to people?
Welcome jw

here i sit, in my public library, typing away a computer from a hot nasty seat.. but i wouldn't be anywhere else in the world right now.
(okay, maybe a couple of other places).
i have to be at work in 40 minutes, and its a 15 minute drive from here, so lets not expect a novel of a post.. yesterday was my birthday, and they did a little cake thing for me and all that which was nice, but otherwise, nothing is new.. my mother seems to be cooling off, but lets just say that the "excrement flinging fan" hasn't been turned off yet.. i'm 18 now, and nothing is different.

Thanks for sharing this SoL...I was so blown away listening to it! It's great to be reminded exactly what kind of attitudes were dealing with when it comes to the bOrg.
At times my jaw dropped and my eyes widened, at other times I was holding my sides laughing. It just screamed CULT. And then I would remember that this is what my mother and extended family would like me to return to and would feel a bit sad and frustrated.
Well done

comments you will not hear at the april 23, 2006 wt study (march 15, 2006 issue, pages 21-25)(load).
review comments will be in red.
wt material from today's wt will be in black.
So glad I don't attend anymore...imagine witnessing almost an hour of the WTS ceremoniously washing its hands, and watching all the faithful nod their heads in agreement that the Society cannot be held responsible for its members doing whatever it tells them to do because it really is their own decision and only the individual will answer for it.
I agree, our decisions are our own responsibility, but the WTS has put itself in a position of authority and must therefore shoulder responsibility for their teachings and requirements--for their intellectual dishonesty, emotional blackmail, and spiritual fraud, and the damaging effect this has on others.

a warm and friendly hello to all !!.
i've been lurking and learning for a few months.
former elder who drifted away due to congregation hyprocrisy and politics.. went through many of the feelings of inadequacy and/or lack of confidence for a while but the longer i was away the stronger i became.. i'll tell more about myself later but right now i want to thank all of your for sharing your thoughts and comments.. it's truly amazing how bright the light can get when you really learn the truth and get out of the "organization".
WELCOME
Light good

so i'm 40 today.
wow.... not only have i never celebrated my birthday, but my "date-of-birth" (april 20th) has always coincided with that of adolph hitler's and, more recently, the 1999 columbine student massacre.
furthermore my daughter has just informed me that today (4/20) is also inernational marijuana day, apparently to coincide with the term "four twenty," which stands for pot.. anyway, although age 40 has traditionally been one of the major mile-markers in peoples' lives, i feel great!
Sorry I didn't identify the pics.
*Yes, that's Carmen Electra, alright. Glad her hotness helps overpower the taint of evil that might otherwise have lingered on this your special day
Preceding her were:
*Hitler...do those lederhosen enhance his evilness or detract from it, do you think?
*Edward IV, King of England..."attractive Edward was popular but given to drinking and wenching."
*Napoleon III, Emperor of France..."in late 1852...he called for a national plebiscite in support of the end of the Republic and the creation of the Second French Empire in its place--with him as its Emperor (with a title of Louis Napoleon III)."
*Ryan O'Neal...Began his career as a stand-in and stunt man. His first acting job was in the German series "Vikings" in 1959. Was a Golden Gloves boxer in the years 1956-1957.
*Luther Vandross...legendary R&B artist.
Trying to find some good stuff for ya on this day (bad stuff seems to get more press tho')...
Save that card! Very special. I still have my (adult) first birthday card and remember the day fondly!
