Awake = College Education, % of brain usage, where are these?

i've heard that this is somewhere in the magazines, but i have no clue where.

also, does anybody know where (or even if) the watchtower ever fed off the idea that we only use a fraction of our brains, an idea that has proven to be false?

i heard so many people talk about this in discussion, but have been unable to locate it in a publication.

No human being has ever come anywhere near to using its full potential." In a limited life span of maybe 70 or 80 years, the brain’s potential remains virtually untapped. scientists have said that in the past many of the mountains were much lower than at present and that some have even been pushed up from under the seas.

furthermore, it is believed that there was a time when the oceans themselves were smaller and the continents were larger than they are now, as testified to by river channels extending far out under the oceans.

It should be realized that the Bible does not say that any mountains in Noah's day were as tall as Mount Everest. Scientists have said that in the past many of the mountains were much lower than at present and that some have even been pushed up from under the seas. Furthermore, it is believed that there was a time when the oceans themselves were smaller and the continents were larger than they are now, as testified to by river channels extending far out under the oceans. But regarding the present situation, National Geographic magazine, in its issue of January 1945, reported: "There is ten times as much water by volume in the ocean as there is land above sea level. Dump all this land evenly into the sea, and water would cover the entire earth, one and one-half miles deep." So, after the floodwaters fell, but before the raising of mountains and the lowering of seabeds caused water to drain off the land and before the buildup of polar icecaps, there was ample water to cover "all the tall mountains," as the Bible states. --Survival Into a New Earth (1984) p.47-48

it contained a statement that was just flat out wrong.

i remembered thinking that it was a very good quote to have for reference.. of course, now i can't find the thread, and can't remember the quote!!!!.

Here's another good one (from Chapter 3):

But does not now the passing of 70 years since 1914 indicate that there may be some doubt about whether we really have been in "the last days" since that year and whether Christ's coming as executioner is near? Not at all! Regarding those who would see the fulfillment of "the sign" from its beginning, starting with 1914, Jesus said: "Truly I say to you that this generation will by no means pass away until all these things happen." (Mark 13:30) Members of that generation are still here, though rapidly decreasing in number.

How often do you bathe?

i heard something and i would like to know the truth so i'll ask this question..... how often do you bathe and change your underwear?.

i heard that people from certain places don't bathe for days and only change their underwear when it gets really deteriorated.. .

If I shower every day but refuse to mask my man-scent with manufactured perfumed products, can I still expect a lower social standing in the USofA?

Apparently it depends on who you ask. Personally, I much prefer man-scent to manufactured-scent...well, depending on the man, I guess So, next time you're over here you can stand next to me...I'm quite sure I can stand it...although standing next to me might actually be considered a "lower social standing"
