Nothing yet here, either.
To be honest, I had so much fun making things for Tinkerbell, that getting a gift, myself, would be the cherry on top of the cake of my Xmas.

this was inspired by the story freedom96 posted earlier.
i was in foster care and was placed there right before halloween.
i celebrated my first halloween, and thanksgiving.
I've given gifts to two angels in the past.
One was for three kids from one family that were in foster care. They didn't ask for anything fancy. Mainly basics like clothing. I bought everything they asked for and got them each a toy. It was so meaningful shopping for them and knowing that my efforts would be appreciated.
Another time I picked an elderly lady in a nursing home. Again, nothing fancy was listed. Slippers, tissues, pens, writing paper, stamps, etc., were requested. So, I went to Costco and bought industrial size boxes of everything and a roll of a hundred stamps.
Unfortunately, I haven't seen an angel tree this year.

Of the "biting fingernails, hoping she likes everything" class
i was putting clothes in the dryer the other day and went to turn it on and it wouldn't start.
i couldn't figure out what was wrong since i had just taken some clothes out of the same dryer.
i looked down and noticed i hadn't closed the dryer door .
LOL @ Jesika!
You explained it much better than me!

LOL @ Kenneson! It reminds me of the Seinfeld epidsode where Jerry accidently knocks his girlfriends toothbrush into the toilet. He picks it up and puts it by the sink. Then without seeing her, his girlfriend grabs the toothbrush and brushes her teeth. Jerry being such a cleaniness and neat-freak can't bring himself to kiss her anymore after that.
I know I have a ton of those " good thing no one saw me" moments. But, the one that comes to mind happened recently. Whenever I am outside, or driving, I wear sunglasses. I live in the desert and most days are bright and sunny. However, when I come inside, many times I will forget to take them off. My daughter is always telling me "Mom, you can take the sunglasses off now". I prefer dim light, so I don't even notice. My husband says I must have been a bat in another life.
So, I'm in the shower getting ready to wash my hair when I realize I still have my sunglasses on!

another fine example of the violation of civil liberties perpetrated by the bush administration / ashcroft-led justice department under the guise of fighting "terror.
is this not "terror" in itself?
at what point is it acceptable for the american people to allow such actions to be committed against fellow american citizens simply because these people are of arab descent?
Quoted from the article provided by Reborn:
It is a shock. You don't expect this to happen. It is really putting fright and apprehension in the community. People who come from these countries -- this is what they expect from their government. Not from America," said Sabiha Khan of the Southern California chapter of the Council on American Islamic Relations.
(Italics and bold added)
Just a side note. The Council on American-Islamic Relations was a major source of fundraising for Islamic Extremists in the 1990s. The money raised right here in the US and funneled the funds to groups such as Hamas and Islamic Jihad.
Any comment from them I would consider dubious.
