Creationism - is purely a myth that is untestable - maybe not!

i've been doing my homework having been stung by the vehemence of the evolutionary believers - i've got some interesting things that maybe science in the classroom could approach.

some premises - .

evolution is only a theory - its not a fact any more than newtonian physics was a fact.

Thankfully, since harnessing the power of restriction enzymes and other DNA analysis techniques we can have direct observable information that lends more support to evolution.

They want to dispute what the pattern in the fossil record really indicates, but I haven't yet heard one decent rebuttal to the line of evidence explained in SNG's post on endogenous retroviruses.

The specific Long Terminal Repeats and their location in genomes is best explained by linked genetic heritages. (i.e. descent with modification) And a pattern of simple to complex, analogous to the fossil record, can be directly inferred from that.

One poster here was identified and his postings were even used in his JC.

I don't think its paranoid at all to believe that the WTS higher ups have some people looking through this site. I think its mainly so they can prepare (they hope) more effective damage control.

While I agree that the higher ups want these apostates/leakers flushed out, I think all the grunt work is mostly done by fanatical elders, rabid with their cultic mental illness, and nothing worthwhile to do with their time.

They're still on it. And the cd even has some coloured maps now.

Very few people seem to like my Dr.Demento 25th anniversary album (I still think its funny).

The Cult -Ceremony is another bomb with guests although I've only played it when they wanted to hear it cuz I really didn't like it. Their other stuff from Electric or Love was much better.

edit to add: Oh my god, how could I have forgotten to mention Love and Rockets.

+ a Mini-Pops album (please don't laugh)

Have You personally heard of a JW "Disfellowshipped or DA" with the new DF

i was wondering if anybody out there have heard a jw disfellowshipped or disassociated under the new way they announce df/da "no longer one of jw" how did it sound?

how do other jw's know if a person left on their own or was forced out?

i forsee some future lawsuits because people are going to gossip and say alot of bad things about the person who might have just left on his or her own.

Yep,

I picked just the right Tuesday night meeting to go to and heard it. It doesn't sound ominous at all (well the PO didn't make it sound so), but I did hear two distinct gasps.

I personally didn't notice but others said he was present in the second school for that evening and for each of the KH meetings in the following 3 weeks. Maybe he'll smarten up and kiss them off.

Did anyone catch the very subtle suggestion that Palpatine gave about who Anakin's real father is? Remember from TPM about there being no father, and add what Palpatine said about manipulating the midichlorians...and you get a revelation analogous to that of ESB when Vader told Luke that "I am your father".....am I wrong?

That would be a great twist. Palpatine trying to make the ultimate apprentice from beginning to end. He did call him son once during the movie and affectionately touched his head when found charred on the bank of th lava flow.

Did I understand it right though that Palpatine said that the Sith Master who knew how to do that was killed by his apprentice? Then I think Palpatine also said to Ani that they could together try and find out the secret to having the midichlorians create life. If I didn't get those lines scrambled in my head, then maybe it was all made up by Palpatine. He knew about Ani's conception as well as how he felt about losing his mother (he told him that). A lie to lure him further into the Dark Side?

I nearly always wait for video release but, I knew I wanted to see ep.3 as it was meant to be seen. Lucas made good on this one. The dialogue was much better than in the last two but still not as natural as on the original trilogy.

I agree with you Leo, I didn't like how Padme died. I know they were limited by the fact she was to die during childbirth, and it avoided the quandary of how would that happen when they had access to such advanced medical technology....I think she could have been injured by Ani (ooooh the guilt)...had to give birth prematurely without technological aid, the complications eventually mean bye bye.

I can understand how she was immobilized by her torn emotions in the rest of the flick, not wanting to move against Ani and maybe even refusing to act on it hoping it was a phase he'd get over. I think Natalie did a great job of the little bit given to her overall...and I'm not saying that just because she's a zillion times hotter than Carrie Fisher.(Although I liked Leia's "attitude" more)

How Much Time Did You Spend as a JW?

also, does the resentment for jw's grow in a linear or a exponential manner with time spent as a jw?.

Stuck growing up as a jw from about 5 yrs old. Got baptized at about 19/20 yrs. I really tried being spiritual since most of my life I didn't believe in anything. Thankfully spent the next four years focussing more on my schooling, but still attending meetings etc. Been idling and coasting the last few years.

Edited to add: A sum of about 27 yrs.
