I don't know how its like in other congregations, but in the one I'm currently officially at, the secretary likes to fax over the letter of introduction to either the secretary or the PO of the other congregation. He even confirms the congregation number and the name(s) through someone he knows at the Georgetown Bethel.
So I may just have to settle on their keping the file but no more tabs on me.

i was in the thinking room yesterday morning doing my usual routine, and between grunting and showering my mind was wondering when i came upon what i thought to be a great idea.
this weekend is the weekend for the district convention where all the good little jw's will be attending.

This fader can tell you that 2034 is NOT crossing the lips of any dub, or any other specific year for that matter. I think the WT is milking the Noah parallel (especially the timeframe) as way to kill two birds with one stone. Give an unsaid explanation as to why the Big A hasn't come after all these decades, but still try to rekindle the urgency and belief of the closeness of the end.
I can see some people's point that even as just a hint, thats rather a ways off, but I think its the best they can do without actually setting themselves up for another failed prophecy. And even as just a rough parallel, its better than nothing, since their nixing of the generation removed any useful theoretical endpoints for the dubs that eagerly play those games.

I don't think the GB would use a PR or consulting firm. Unless they're having changes of heart, they're too full of themselves and high on their own power to ask for others advice (except legal). Unfortunately they DO follow their lawyers' advice and get their way alot of times.
Even if the GB were to use some consulting agency, and it were one of the CIA's fronts, the CIA wouldn't really care much about this business to prop it up or take it down. The JW literature today is much more tamely worded in their condemnations of governments than in Da Judge's time. The CIA has more dangerous radical groups to keep tabs on nowadays.

o.k, so i'm sitting here at work, watching the transformers season 1 dvd, and i have a very importat question....... when megatron transformed into that gun, did he get smaller, or did starscream get bigger....?.

Or hows about when Soundwave transforms into the tape-recorder? Did several of those tapes in him (like LazerBeak & Rumble) also shrink down with him?

i think from time to time we have posters here that may be assigned by the gb to speak xjw speak and try to discourage posters from attacking the organization, or to just give up our internet fight to expose them, to just give up our efforts and forget about the wt.
if they did this they would have to keep close tabs on whoever they assign because they know that there is a great possiblity they may turn on them.
or perhaps they would trust no one except themselves and so you might even have a member of the gb actually posting in disguise.
They'd be foolish not to have these boads monitored for hurtful leaks, and use the info to make their damage control more effective. So, I think there are registered members here that scan for that kind of intel, but are mostly non-posting and lurkingI doubt this 100%
Maybe you're right and they don't have anyone on here. I certainly don't think they're here to id all people that may still be in the organization.
My point is that it makes alot of sense that to persuade or dissuade active dubs, you need to know the opposing points well enough to prepare a response. Scanning here is a way to keep the finger on the pulse.
If what you doubt is that they may have a couple of registered peeps....sure that may be a bit of a stretch, but then again, registration is what would allow access to most threads. So its not that far-fetched. Welcome to the board! (I'm not so paranoid as to not say hi at least).

But there are also so many pathetic jw elders who have nothing better to do with their time, than to play lame-assed "Agent Double-O-1914", on their overly zealous jihad against apostates. They do it on their own for the cause and for the brownie points with the CO. One almost had me fingered on here, even though I was a nobody. They need the purging to happen (regardless of who we are) to confirm their delusion of it being so very near to the end.

Gollum from this board has regaled me with stories of synchronizing sprite drawing with refresh scans when writing for the NES. That is possible only when you know with absolute certainty what hardware will be executing your code.
Thats exactly one of the factors why AmigaOS had such a small footprint. And coders made some fantastic demos by banging the hardware. But being so tightly tied in with the hardware, spelt doom for the OS. If it used HALs though, then it would have been feasible to port the OS to say the PC. (Thats what some hobbyists are trying to do with AROS. An AmigaOS clone that has HALs and will run on all sorts of processors once compiled.)
I have to hand it to Windows and the unixes since they have that versatility. Funnily enough even MacOS 7.5 was software agnostic enough to be made to run on Amiga hardware.

When I was at my most intense stage of indoctrination, Microsoft only had win95 out for a couple of years and I still saw alot of win3.1. But even then price/performance for the pc platform was better than Amiga. Oh god...I don't want to even admit how much I spent on that Picasso II gfx card for my A3000.
Well I have to say Win2000 and Win XP are very nice OSes, and [the following is spoken in a spacey, monotone with odd pausing] " I am...very happy...with...my wintel machine...now."
