Word of the Year
by Leolaia intonight i'm voting in the official "word of the year" election held at the annual american dialect society conference.
what words do you think should merit being considered the best word of 2004?
as defined by the ads, the word of the year is the word that "most colored the nation's lexicon, or otherwise dominated the national discourse.

I find that suggestion about using dried sage interesting because its very similar to one my mother told me once. Where she grew up (Abruzzi region of Italy), they would use straw in a little bundle to keep out an assortment of ghosts. I wonder how far back this idea goes and where it started?
My mom doesn't believe in ghosts by the way, nor do I. Ghouls, fairies and spirits are fantasy to me too.
I'm throwing down the gauntlet. If there are any succubi out their, prove it to me.

"Your Reports HAVE To Be Turned In By The 6th of the Month!"

BluesBrother I like your style!
The secretary at one congregation was almost always behind in his paperwork and the BOE assigned me to be his assistant (on top of the other work they gave me as an MS).
It was my job to call up people who still didn't hand in there reports by the 4-5. The secretary could generate the list but didn't have the time to make the calls. The amount of missing reports varied from about 5-15 each month. I hated that job and could only imagine how much of a pain in the @$$ the publishers must have considered me to be. I didn't want to look like I was some nosy organizational flunky and said that the secretary didn't have anything for them and to call him if they had something to report. But they almost always would just tell me the numbers and to pass it on for them. Quite a few sounded like they were pulling numbers out of thin air.

Has there been a change?
by IT Support innewspaper article from ghana
according to him, one to two units of blood was taken from the patient and replaced with intravenous fluids.
the bleeding during the surgery would, therefore, be diluted blood.

The AMD is straightforward, but as is so typical of the WTS, other material they publish gives them wiggle room. Their own video on blood and bloodless surgery touted the use of hemodilution and cell salvage techniques. There was even a part in the service meeting (a couple of months back?) that, to me at least, sounded like these were now optional.
Edit: "Fading" means I don't get the KMs regularly but I did manage to find the Canadian Dec 2003 KM and it had basically the same question and answer part on the video called Transfusion-Alternative Health Care - Meeting Patient Needs and Rights.

I haven't sampled alot from this genre, but I did like the following two songs which are spiritual in their own ways. I think only the later is a Christian rock band.
Show me the Way by Styx and Higher by Creed.

by outnfree ini am so terrified!.

((Brenda)) I'm sorry about the frightening news. And the waiting is awful. I knew two people who had brain tumours. My Gr.7 classmate's tumour was around the top right side. We didn't see Memmi for the rest of the year, but he was back the next, and was alright. The other was a middle-aged man in the congregation I grew up in. It affected his hearing a bit according to him. By the way Lena was quickly and expertly checked, she's clearly in very good hands. Thats a huge positive.

The Watchtower: Sincere Old Men or Deliberate Deceivers?
by metatron inwhen a witness encounters injustices engendered by the watchtower and considers them.
with clarity of mind, he is likely to suppose that , at worst, the old men who run things.
are sincere but misguided.

I made the mistake a long time ago of thinking that all the WTS "heavies" were sincere but deluded. Now I realize that all of them are sincere about wanting to keep the entity known as the Org up and running. Why they feel that way varies, from the sad but troubling to the unethical and sickening.
A few of them may very well be delusional, and have tied up grandiose plans of salvation and glorification along with that entity. We know though, that there are others that have known the dirt for quite a while but decided to keep it under wraps. To me, it looks like they've only made changes when there was some threat to the "health" of the entity (numbers and $$$$$). They are undoubtedly deceitful, and they've been running the show for a very long time.

The decade is now half over....

", what would you say about the decade we've now in?
do you think world conditions are worse than in the '90s?

How do I feel about GW in power? Lets see, the precedent set by his doctrine of the pre-emptive strike, the policy that pushes the idea of using a more diverse aresnal of nuclear weapons much like conventional arms, and his general I'll do what I want attitude....."Oh-Oh"
TV programming this side of the millenium sucked. Then again I only get what comes over the free airwaves. So aside from the news, I have no desire to watch.....Well...ummm..okay there were two telenovellas...only two (recently) . But they're foreign so in my defense, I'm being cultured somewhat.
I'll stop while I think I'm ahead and say nothing about music. Except that I found William Hung's rendition of She Bangs and Take me Out to the Ball Game sorta interesting to listen to .

Dawn Wells (Mary-Anne) hands down. She has beautiful eyes, a prettier face, and an awesome set of gams despite her being shorter than Ginger.
And after some extensive observation I have to say she's just as busty as ginger too.

Re-enrolling in the ministry school and taking the first opportunity I got on stage to show the congregation how bogus the Troof really is! (And just by using quotes from their own publications)
