They made them sit in the front row during the meeting.
Wouldn't that be forceful confinement? If I was the parent of the child I'd be going after someone's head. Who has the right to forcefully subject someone to that kind of torture.

each year on devil's night (oct. 30 for those who are unaware of it's title) and halloween, all of our area halls would gather a group of brothers, usually elders, and they'd take shifts in "guarding" the kingdumb hall, protecting jehovah's sacred place from evil youths bent on vandalising it.
i can't see anyone vandalizing it as a target, except x-jw's but x-jw's would do it anytime of year, they don't need an occasion.
well one year in my late teens, and on my way out, one of my friends had the brilliant idea to drive around to the local halls, and throw ziplock bag packets (like a water ballon) of egg yolk and whites (no shells because they hurt), flower and oil at the ones guarding the hall, not the hall itself.

I did that in Jr. High too! We'd take off from lunch and start grabbing X-mas lights from the neighborhood and break them. Was fun until we all got called to the principal's office. Turns out one of the houses belonged to an off-duty cop who photographed us all. Lucky us! We had to repay for the cost of the lights, and got a 1 day suspension for leaving the property during lunch.

Shortly after I was injustly DF'd being made a scape-goat for all the elders kids who were screwing, drinking, drugging and who knows what else, every elder was removed from their position except for one (that was within a year). My mom said, "That's Jehovah making things right." What a crock. I figgure it was from the elders and their wives getting together and screwing, drinking, druging and who knows what else, and some other poor guy became the scape-goat for that. But who really knows.

Obviously it is not something I'd do now as I have matured (somewhat), but my first question is, is this a regular practice? Do most halls get a gang of JW loyals to guard the KH at all costs from the evil youth? I'm sure that the ones that my friends and I hit with the ziplock packets were quite proud that they diverted the attack from humiliating the KH, at their own expence. My second question is would you as an immature youth, taken the opportunity to conduct such an operation as this against elders who caused you much pain?

BTW, at the time, it felt good. You ever had to clean egg, oil and flour off you? Tim Horton's napkins just doesn't cut it!
what i was thinking about is, since most of us that post on jwd remain annonymous, i wonder how many of us know someone else that posts on this site, but dont know that they post on this site... i keep hearing of new apostates (people that are aquaintances of mine) that are popping up... and i notice that a few people here are from ontario, canada.
too bad i may never know who you are, even though i may know who you are (get it???!!!).
it really spells out to me just how afraid most of us are.
GET IT???!!!
I get it. Maybe in my past JW life, I ran into you at an assembly. Maybe at the Skydome, Copps Colussium, Norval or London. Who knows, maybe we once were in the same hall. But we will never know because on here I'm "Kwintestal", and you're "in a new york bethel minute". For those of us on here that are out, but still keep the foot in the JW door for family reasons. So. Do I know you or anyone else?

i found this in one of the letters listed in the best of forum.
i quote:.
"a regular pioneer gave an experience of how her car needed $87 in repairs, but she didn?t have any money because she didn?t have a full-time job since she believed jehovah would always provide for her.
Actually something very similar happened to me. I was at a quick filling my normal position of communications expert in the tented area, when my stomach started grumbling. I was hungry, and just as soon as that happened, the food bell went. And conveiniently enough, I was in the food tent. At that point I knew Jehovah had touched me.

i'm an outsider who was once told by someone at the local kh that the whole cong.
was abuzz with activity because the co was there to visit that particular week.
the whole meeting schedule was changed for the week, people were putting extra hours in service, etc.
Also many, including elderly ones in which have very little hand him/wife a little envelope with CASH!
Last year at the meeting before a CO's visit, our hall's PO told each of us to give an envelope with some cash to help them out, saying that it would be an example of brotherly love. After the CO came up to me and talked I thought that the cash wouldn't be the best thing for him. The next meeting (the Sunday one) I brought toothpaste, soap and shampoo instead in a brown paper bag and said to open it at home. He and his wife sent a thank you card.

how much harm did you cause to the people in your congregation?
everybody complains how the witnesses did this and that and in the process caused so much harm.
but what you don't say is how much pain you caused others while you were in.
I too caused much harm when I left. Not with the whole congregation, but mostly the young single ladies. You see, I'm cursed with these good looks. I can't help it, but I'm beautiful. It traumatized all these young sisters because they then knew that I was no longer "marriage material", and they would then have to settle for my peers who were cosmetically and intellectually lacking.
