I find it hard to believe that active and curent Elders or MS would be posting on this site..
How else do you think we get all the dirt on the org? There's quite a few current elders and MSs that post on here, unfortunately trapped in their JW life.

years ago my parents gave us a framed cross stich with our last name and "family forever" on it as the main part of the picture.. since then, my parents have shunned us completely.
i'm thinking of returning it to them in the mail with a letter saying something like, "i guess you didn't mean it when you gave this to us so there's no point in us having this.

I had gotten up at 3am for the baby the other night. I got her a bottle, and decided to jump on JWD for a few minutes while I made sure she dropped back to sleep. When I saw your thread, I thought it said you were moving to NICARAGUA!!I wasn't coherent enough to respond (thankfully!) and it wasn't until the next day that I saw the real story... sheesh...

BUT ... I need to give someone a new address to send the item to. Turns out we'll be moving in 3 weeks and I'd hate for it to come to Halifax and I'm in Niagara. How can I forward the right address to the person if I don't know who it is. Sorry, but this move is kind of last minute.

i have relatives in the jehovah's witness religion still, and in-laws.
because my spouse and me were never officially disfellowshipped, they have a hard time with how to shun us.
basically, they don't.
I went through all this in the Summer, around the time when we were announced as being DF'd. Immediately prior to the announcement, my father called to find out what their relationship with my kids was going to be. Of course, at the time I had no idea the a DF'ing was immenant so I basically said the same it's always been, but when it got around to us not being a part of those visits it was a different story.
We will not have them seeing our kids and subtling "saving" them behind our backs (because you and I both know that's what's going to happen) and allowing our kids to think this behaviour is acceptable. No way.
Well, that was August and they haven't called our house once to speak to us or the kids. Our lives are going on, and THEY'RE the ones missing out on it.

Well, in 3 weeks, we'll be there. We're going to go so we'll be with Mrs Kwin's (Heart2Heart) family for Christmas. Between X-mas and New Years, I'll be bringing all our stuff from NS to ON. It's 6000 km in less then 10 days, but has to be done. It'll be nice to be around family for the holidays. Last year we were here in Halifax on our own and Mrs Kwin got quite homesick. Not this year!
It'll be nice to meet those of you in Ontario that I haven't yet met!
On a side note, I've been on a waiting list to see a specialist for my shoulder here in Halifax for 10 months now, I have an appointment on Jan 17th. I called a specialist in Niagara TODAY, and I'm going to see him on Jan 12th. He could have seen me before the holidays, but I won't be there.

Awesome. I started my pranks inside the hall, fooling around with their policies and making the elders look like asses. In the future, I will probably do a few things similarly imaginative as your stories. Good on ya! Kwin
