misanthropic's puppy pics reminded me of a picture i had of our cat chillin' in a sink.
it's ironic in that she is extremely afraid of water - even little drops that splash on her.
Yours isn't the only one that likes to hang out in the sink basin. Mine's getting a bath though at the same time.
Here's him lounging in a shoe box, notice it's a size 1 1/2 boys shoe box ... not very big so he has his back end in the box and front end resting on the other side of it.

the wife and i showed up with our red books and bibles at the new brother's house ready for the study, but nobody was there.. anyone else ever have this happen?.
i understand that the group is huge, us, the new guys, the conductor (a bethel reject), and three generations of dubs who live in the same house, but are three family groups too much to keep track of?
We were never not told that the book group had switched locations, however we did show up at the KH during a snow fall and found out the meeting had been cancelled. Not that it was a huge storm or anything, just in Nova Scotia if they get a snow flake in the air everything cancels. My dad had an on-going joke that if it snowed the snow-mobiler's convention would be cancelled too.

When I was a teen and was DF'd my parents forced me to be there for the announcement. It was no big deal.
Later on in life I found out that I was being DF'd minutes after they announced it (I just happened to be dropping a "please FO" letter to the PO). This was done without them even saying a word to me. So, I showed up the next meeting and gave them an appeal letter, stating the reason for the appeal was that the elders never talked to me and didn't invite me to a JC hearing, therefore they didn't follow procedures in the Pay Attention book.
I got a phone call a couple of weeks later from two elders saying that they "prayerfully concidered" my situation (yeah right, if praying involved a call to the legal dept.) and that they were going to reverse the announcement, which they did and I attended.
The announcement read, "This is a revision to the announcement made on (such and such a date) that read 'Mr and Mrs Kwin' are no longer Jehovah's Witnesses. It should have read, 'Mrs Kwin is no longer a Jehovah's Witness. Mr. Kwin IS a Jehovah's Witness."
The day of the announcement, I mailed a letter to everyone in the hall telling them of the problems with child abuse in the org. The should have recieved it the day after or a couple days after the announcement.
I never heard from any of them again, this being a year and a half later.

a few 1000 phone calls might get some attention... probably cause warning talks on getting your information thru emails instead of publications ... i know some of you here do call bethel on occasion..just wondering if anyone has called to ask about this latest stuff..
Very interesting email. I believe, should the email be genuine, that the GB will start cracking down on these speakers so they don't "put down their notes". They can't afford to now so many are in-touch with each other.

i am sure there has been a thread about this but i downloaded skype - (free) and i have a webcam and a microphone so i can call friends and family in europe who also have skype and i can talk and see them free of charge - really cool.
anyone of you guys got skype?
I've used Skype quite a bit, it's great for confrence calls and stuff like that, however calling within Canada and the US is no longer (as of Jan. 1) free from Skype to landline so I just use my home phone where I have unlimited within North America and that works just fine. I do use Skype though to call Europe and Asia those few times that I've needed to, their rates are great for overseas!

they were born at 25 weeks (not 40 weeks as is common with full-term).
due to their prematurity, they will most likely need blood transfusions.
Just a question ... As I understand it, you cannot be disfellowshipped for accepting a blood transfusion, by accepting one you have disassociated yourself. Is there an official policy regarding disciplining a parent should they allow a minor child (who obviously cannot disassociate themselves) to recieve blood? I wouldn't think the WTS could have a policy regarding that.

hartung draws attention to the two verses in revelation where the number of those 'sealed' (which some sects such as the jehovah's witnesses, interpret to mean 'saved') is limited to 144,000.. i would not myself used the word 'saved', i'm not sure exactly sure what word i would have used because i don't think the jw's beliefs regarding the 144,000 can be summed up with one word.

the use of the word "saved" in this instance would be understood by most readers with a Christian background to mean that the 144,000 would go to heaven, which is what the WTS doctrine teaches.
That makes a lot of sence. No sence in him complicating things for the majority to fool around with terms that the WTS has already fooled around with.
