  The Bible: Number one selling book of all time?

  made me start thinking.... i have heard many fundi-christians say that the bible is the number one published / selling book in history... so why is it not at the top of amazon's book list?.

  My wife argued that the 607 date was correct because that is what the bible said about the destruction of Jerusalem. So I proved it wrong from the scriptures. She now knows.

  We talked about that for a while, then I started talking about how the JW view of apostates changed since all the info regarding 607 vs. 586 came out. She said she knew.

  What? She knew? Yeah. She read it in a book that I left around the house.

  Here she's been reading CoC. I had no idea. Now she feels that the GB are corrupt and that she's been had. She's pissed because of all the effort she put into becoming a JW as a teen, all the pain she put her parents through. What a change from 2 weeks ago when she got pissed because she caught me on JWD with all you apostate liars!

  She's AWOL from the hall (that'd make a good song) now. Not interested in going back. She's watching over my shoulder as I read through posts on here. Won't be long, and she'll be as obsessed as I am.

  Were You Delighted When An Elder/M.S./Pioneer Got Into Trouble W/Elders???

  jws are a self-righteous bunch!-------- do you remember when an elder or so-called "mature one" would get into some trouble and either get "disciplined" or "deleted" and the reaction in the hall?

  some used to gloat over a big-shot getting into trouble with the elders or circuit overseer.

  or the gossip mill would just be buzzing over seeing someone going into the "backroom" with 2 or 3 elders.....do you remember those days???

  Within 1 year of my first DF'ing, 8 of the 11 elders in my hall stepped down or were removed from being elders, and today only 1 is an elder. The majority steped down or were removed because their kids were doing worse stuff then I ever did and yet were left alone. That made me feel good.

  my husband and i were talking about how if you stop going to the meetings and then the end comes that they tell you that it would be those ones that would say "lord did we not prophecy in your name etc etc"....... well, he suggested that it would also apply to those who were going to the meetings and maybe sinning a little on the side........so when the end comes, maybe it is those ones that will say "lord did we not prophecy in your name"

  I think that this refers to groups who claim they are inspired by God, tell others they are inspired by God, and take actions claiming that they are God's will.

  God wants nothing to do with these ones because they fabricate their truth and claim it to be God's. Therefore they are condemned by God, who wants nothing to do with them.

  MY CELIBACY VOW AND OTHER QUESTIONS!

  )o.k so last night i made a vow of celibacy to god.

  an official promise in prayer to not fornicate so that maybe i too can have a special wedding night.

  (my boyfriend was surprisingly supportive) i remember reading a scripture that says a promise made to god should be taken very serious.

  1. Chastity belt. Nothing turns off a guy like the threat of losing his manhood. Really though, just don't get in a situation that it pops up.

  2. Never heard of it (websites) but it wouldn't surprise me. I noticed people with computer pages and it turned out it was stuff they printed off the WT CD like scriptures becasue they were too lazy to open thier bible during the talk.

  3. Not sure what else is on it, but a publisher card is basically like a bank statement, except with your FS time instead of money.

  4. They don't hold anything against you if you're not doing it now.

  number 1 son, simon, is now living in coventry with his beloved lady and his little lad, charlie.. yesterday, hl and i went to visit them.

  it's only a 2 1/2 hour run, so we just popped up for lunch.. while we were eating our lunch by the window, we spotted several people walking slowly up the street.

  Very well done EM. Anyone raised after 1975 don't know anything about what went on. Hopefully she'll start asking a few questions. Acouple of years ago I brought that issue up with my parents, they said it never happened. My dad "never expected the end to come then" although several times he'd said in the past that he wasn't going to finish highschool because the end was comming. Turns out he did, so did I, and my kids are now in school. But I'm convinced that they'll never finish highschool.

  granted i havent been to the kh in years.

  but when i did several talks dealt with how apostates lie about the wtbs, the apostates make up stuff and attribute the quotes to wtbs.

  apostates all have evil intentions of taking god away from you.
