That's a BIG chicken
Sounds like an Austin Powers movie.
okay, its simple.
it works like this.
i will give you a few lines from a particular movie.

..and by logical extension, imho, you'll always show a deep respect for your brooklyn parent too.. look at this from a young people ask article:.
>>>>>parents who are hot-tempered or immoral, who are drunkards, or who bicker with each other?are they really worthy of honor?
yes, for the bible condemns holding any parent "in derision.
Honour and respect must be earned. That's a common point of view but it's not what the Bible says, as quoted by Eman.No matter what they wish, the boys in Crooklyn can never take the place of natural parents. Oh, they may try and at times have some success superficially but not deep down.
A parent is a parent.
I guess the point that I was getting at is similar to others that had posted after me.
Is a parent who abuses (emotionally or physically) considered a parent? Is that why some hide the abuse, to honour their parents? I'm sure when the bible was written, there weren't as many disfunctional families as there are today. Had there been, there might be a few more chapters in it.

the society claim that many prophecies have a "greater fulfilment.
daniel 4 was not only fulfilled with king nebuchadnezzar, but has a "greater fulfilment" in telling when the gentile times will end.
has the society ever tried to justify this practise?
That's something I never quite understood myself - why would one prophecy have more than one fulfillment?? It's funny how the WTS attributes every new "fulfillment" of prophecy to themselves - just another ploy to use as "proof" that this is God's organization. Any one of us could probably look at our own lives and make the details "fit" into the fulfillment of a prophecy!

my girlfriend is saying to me... .
just write a letter of disassociation, and join some other chat group and move on.
she loves you guys, because i often tell her about "what's going on here.
I know where she's comming from, and it's something that everyone here may or may not come to at some time.
When does the healing stop? When the wound doens't hurt. When it gets to that point will be different for everyone.
Bottom line, "moving on" is something that has to be done, but it's one step at a time. Don't tear off the bandage too early and reopen the wound.

.
since the last 13 years, i'm inactive.
i might go to 3 or 4 meetings a year... i might go to one memorial out of 3. i was never told that i was "marked".. naturally half of the congregation shuns me to a certain degree, but i still don't know if i'm "marked"..
I have only come accross "marking" once.
A girl my age (17 or 18) started dating a "worldly" guy.
They had a special needs talk about it.
A week later there was a wedding reception and she was there and my mom made the comment: "I wonder why she's here. She shouldn't be since she's been marked."
I don't know if that's really something that the younger generation really knows much about. I didn't until I was in my late teens.

...really made a huge impact on you?
one thing that gutted me as a jw was the realisation that they (the gb) had written the articles telling us how humble they were, that they were the "ruth class" or simply put "best class" etc, all the good people in the bible represented them, how humble is that?
it suddenly dawned on me after years of not realising it, how arrogant my leaders were.
that also had a big inpact on a reg pioneer who saw the film Witnesses of Jah were Ray comments on it. A gut kicker huh.
I think that it confirmed concerns that I already had in regard to how the WTS was being directed.
There's a chain of events. WTS says something. WTS is wrong. WTS is held to account for it and say that they are imperfect men and make mistakes. WTS expects everything to be OK and everyone to forget.
So I asked a couple of elders when they were sheparding me how the WTS can be wrong if they're directed by God.
They say the usual BS...new light...blah...blah...blah...imperfect men...blah...blah...blah...
You know the drill.
So I asked...When was the last time you went to an assembly, got a book and they said from the platform, "Here's a book for you provided by imperfect men"? It will never happen. That book is "From Jehovah God."
Anyway...back to what I was getting at...12 men, all directed by "God's spirit", write books "from God", give books to followers...information is WRONG...was it directed by "God's spirit" or by a 2/3 majority vote?

it seems to me that there's a big difference between the "old-school" jw's and the "new-school" jw's when it comes to the door-to-door work.. i took "no" for an answer.
someone didn't want to listen, that's fine.
"have a good day then.

You always here of stories of JW's putting their foot in the door, or making some comment such as "Well, I guess you're not intrested in your future then." (that line was used on my Mother-in-law last weekend).
So when did the old-school style go out, and the new-school style come in?

wouldn't you consider a "doubt" to be a very weak word for how you felt upon learning what really is going on with the wts?
i was really giving that term a lot of thought the other day, and it really is a term to keep control, because it makes it sound like heck, you're just confused and don't know what's going on.
of course they're not going to say "friends are going online and looking at apostate material and are becomming thoroughly convinced that what we're teaching is wrong.

WTS says: "Friends are going online and looking at Apostate material and getting doubts."
Of course they're not going to say "Friends are going online and looking at Apostate material and are becomming thoroughly convinced that what we're teaching is wrong."
By telling members of the org. that those who leave, leave because of doubts, doesn't tell the whole story.
So do you have "doubts"?

i attended the 2004-2005 circuit assembly this past weekend.
the internet, online chat rooms, and jw online dating was mentioned several times both days.
during both the circuit overseer's final talk on sunday and the district overseer's final talk sunday they both spent several minutes talking about how the internet poses a serious danger to god's people.
Thank you doinmypart for the sacrifice you have made for the good of all Apostatekind. It took bravery to go behind enemy lines, bravery and courage. For that we all thank you. Your deeds will not go unforgotten.
Really though, thanks for keeping us up to date regarding what our still believing families are being fed.
