CHRISTMAS WOES

most of you know i'm the one with all the religion woes..(ie....finding one...ha) anyways, i did all this research on christmas being that i was brought up not believing in it and found that it really does have pagan roots in a big way so i can't decide if it's ok to do it if i do it for jesus' birthday even tho now i know that it wasn't started that way and all this bad air is around it and i get scared i am deliberately doing something against god and that's detestable to him.....ahhhhhh.. i know he wasn't born in winter, i know we don't know when he was born....so is it ok for me to get presents on a day that used to be used to worship some pagan sun god when they would hang pine boughs all over their house.

doesn't that make it bad?!

But seriously dear, after some time has passed you will be able to let go of your fears. Once you have tried out your new life as a non-witness for a while and you realize nothing bad is going to happen to you the fun will begin.

I enjoy Christmas as a time to cook and buy gifts for the people I love. Also Mannheim Steamroller has some wonderful Christmas music, gets you in the mood. Relax, its okay Christmas is not bad. You don't have to analyze the livin daylights out of everything anymore. Christmas is good and so are you.

been a while since i have had a chance to visit the board.

a lot of things have happened...dealing with some business crap....ending one and starting a new one with a partner this time...dealing with child custody issues...my husband was laid off....just general stress....arghhhh!!!!.

everything is going to work out i am sure...but i bought my first pack of cigarettes in 10 years on sunday.

Please don't start smoking again. You know it won't make things better or even lessen your stress. All it will do is give you one more thing to stress about. I quit in January and hung in through some pretty rough times. You can too!!!! Get rid of the ciggies, they are not your friends. Just remember the sense of power you felt when you quit. . . remember?

My Mother's Being Announced in November As OFF The Pioneer List

after 40 years of serving as a regular pioneer and being on the infirm list, the circuit overseer, the po and another elder told her today in a 30 min.

conversation she was going to be announced as no longer pioneering.

the co mostly talked about me, my wife and daughter.

so, they sent in the "hired goons" to rough her up. 80 years and a lifetime of loyal service and she gets the boot and a verbal beating.

Any Ebay-ers Out There?

i'm becoming intrigued with dabbling on ebay.

i've made a bid for some goods and i'm waiting to see if i've "won".. any advice for a newbie ebay-er?.

buying, selling, whatever?.

I went on Ebay for a looksee for the first time on Saturday. I looked at shoes and I began to notice a pattern. The women's shoes described as "sexy". Stilettos and the like-were usually in a very large size, 10 or 11 in US sizes. Huge shoes in styles used by say. . . cross dressers and shoe fetish types. Well all I'm saying is that the stuff on ebay, well um . . . you don't know where its been. Just a thought

What Do You Do when JWD Is Down??

there are times during the month when you can't log on too.

There is "much weeping and gnashing of teeth" while I "cover myself with sack cloth and ashes" and ponder how "the day of my death is better than the day of my birth" and remember that if I go to all 5 meetings, do my personal study, preach and raise my children in the "mental regulating of Jehovah (kick the shit out of them)" well then "probably I Might be saved.

As you can see I am very busy during down time

a big story in the uk right now.. from the descriptions of the childs condition on the radio, where it was said she was in constant pain, i think it would be right to allow her to die.

she has zero chance of any kind of quality of life and prolonging this suffering is just inhuman.. if scientists were doing this to an animal, there would be complaints that it was cruel.. a sad story indeed, but sometimes the kindest thing is to let go .... http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/3701492.stm.

I couldn't agree more. One must also consider her emotional pain if she lives through the cause of the physical. I work in Special Education and daily see the plight of children who cannot give or receive love and are incapable of forming friendships. That is true suffering.

Thanks for the encouraging post. I have been uplifted and will now have an enjoyable bible discussion. As a matter of fact, I am no longer depressed so now I can keep my home in a manner that reflects Godly principles and will set an example to others. I can cook nutritious meals and take care to serve food at the proper time.

I can make sure that my clothing is clean and neat and mended even though it is 15-20 years out of date. My families shoes will shine after I polish them as befitting a fine Christian example of very shiny shoes. I will adorn myself tastefully and attend many hours of meetings and field service per week.

After that I will give my husband his "marital due" as often as he wants while keeping up with my literature reading. As a matter of fact, I think a Christian woman should definitely read the literature while she is "giving the marital due."

All of this is because of the spiritual food I have had shoveled into my figurative pie hole. Just knowing that God's Organization understands me and my depression and is now telling everyone that they too should understand my mental illness makes me so happy that I will continue to wait on Jehovah until I die of old age.

if you are a young person, you also need to face the fact that you will never grow old in this present system of things?

.all evidence in fulfillment of bible prophecy indicates that this corrupt system is due to end in a few years?

as a young person you will never fulfill any career that this system offers.
