  i posted here a couple of months ago, or less.

  my home computer crashed and they cracked down on messageboard sites at my work, so the work laptop was out.

  plus, i just felt emotionally burned out and just didn't want to think about it anymore.

  First, Take a deep breath.

  There has been very strong suggestions for you on this board to get out of this relationship. Yet you are still in love with this guy.

  You are thinking with your emotions, and are not being rational. My suggestion is to make a list of pros and cons about the relationship. BE sure to write this down, instead of just have these thoughts swirling in you head. This will help you to see the relationship for what it trully is.

  The posters here are just able to see your situation objectively. I have been in highly dysfunctional relationships in the past, and thought that others were being mean when they spoke out of concern to me. I was the type that had extreme (stupid) loyalty to people that didn't deserve it.

  If the relationship didn't work the the first thirty times, the thirty-first is the charm! Please take an accurate inventory of your situation and not fall into that trap.

  Why would a young sister marry an old brother?

  i recall a ms brother about 62 years old dating and marrying a sister about 30 years younger.

  i respect their choice and if they are in love, well good for them.

  but i don't think it's to the best interest of the younger one...... do jw's accept bigger age differences in marriage than other religions?.

  Your info says that you are 44 years old. You say you lived with an asian woman 25 years your junior. You lived with her for 4 years.

  44 - (25 + 4) = 15

  How old was she when you started living with her? I am truly weirded out.

  Divorce rates among JWs higher?

  do you believe that divorce rates among jw's is higher or lower than the averages now?.

  in the us - at least recently - it was said that about 50% of all marriages will end in divorce.. for decades as a jw - i believed that jw's were immune from this statistic.

  among the older married couples divorce seemed almost unheard of - and still, among the older crowd, that holds true i believe.

  Jeff,

  I believe that the divorce rate in the JW's is lower than the rest of the population . . . but ARTIFICIALLY lower! THis is because many that get divorced end up disfellowshipped, therefore they wouldn't count them. How convenient!

  when i was a witness , like a lot of you, remember we'd all scramble around at the end of the month asking each other, ( or your book study conductor would remind you) to turn our time in for field ministry ?

  Flipper, you seem to miss the point. They can't stop counting time.

  To JW's: Service time = Currency

  Time IS money. That is how you "buy" position in the org. You buy being an MS or Elder by reporting more time than others.

  It doesn't matter if you actually do it, just report it and show up for meetings for service once in a while.
