I've had a few,
But then again,
Too few to mention.

i was among the jw's for 30 whole years.
left them in 1999 and it was the best thing i ever did.
i can't believe how much i was deprived of, for that matter, all jw's.

i am fascinated by things that are different from me.
what makes other people tick.
i am goofy and have a constant stream of consciousness going through my mind that when expressed verbally or in writing appears to most to be the mumblings of a mad man.
The only "normal" I know of is a setting on my dryer. JK
when my mum went to her first meeting she was dressed to perfection, she wore nice ladies dress trouser/pants.
the witness stuying with her told her it was "not apropriate" to wear this to the meeting...in 2006 i was in a congregation where a sister would put a skirt on over her pants she wore to work.
it looked weird, but the pants ban still is in force 2007.
This is one unwritten rule that I never understood.
I wonder if it is so the elders can see occasional accidental beavage?
JK
well, they wanted to talk about something, but i didn't have the time to meet with them, and luckily, one of the two who wanted to meet missed the meeting himself anyway, so the other said they would reschedule.
i told them that last night would have been the best possible time to meet for a while, since my workload is picking up and i will simply not have time on my hands, so whatever it is, it will have to wait a while.
i think i might just stop going to meetings for a while and stop answering my phone and door.
Lloyd,
Way to dodge the bullet!
JK
Nariko,
Welcome to JWD!
JK
iv'e been posting here a long time but here's something i never shared before .
i'm still a window cleaner.
i'm not going to rant at the 'society' because they don't own my anger anymore but my work is certainly a legacy of my cult past.
Nic,
Congratulations on you son entering college!
Just a thought - 43 is the new 30 - you can still go back to school. I started after leaving the Lie, and I was 45. Two degrees later, I think it was the best thing I ever did.
Good luck,
JK
growing up i had a friend that was disfellowshiped for premarital sex, marrying someone out of his faith, and pretty much being a free thinker.
to see what he went through at such a young age was painful to watch.
years later i meet this wonderful man, who was raised as a witness.
4,
At the Memorial it is real wine. Real, CHEAP wine! You are better to go without.

4mylove,
Thank you for sharing your situation.
Has he continued to go to meetings after the Assembly? It might wear off if he only went to appease his parents. Family pressure is tough to deal with.
I am sorry that his family treats you less than. It is probably engrained in your husbands mind that he needs to convert you to save your life in the Big A. Once he opens his mind to the WTS being a cult, this will all change. I hope you get to this point.
Good luck, and keep us informed.

where: my country estate.
dress code: black tie .
directions: just close your eyes and click your heels three times and you'll be here.
At least they got John Doe dressed before the paparazzi took the picture!
i'm back, finally...more or less.
my computer died like 5 weeks ago and i'm still having problems even after rebuilding it twice.
if you've stopped in to check out my web site (www.atheistgeeknews.com) and noticed it was dead, it's because i haven't been able to get online much.
Is the WTS too controlling of JW's? Is the Pope Catholic? It is what they do!
I feel your pain about the dead computer, my desktop took a dump last night. I need to pick up another hard drive.
