Tell the parents when they call, to ask him, where he goes. That is if he is over the age of about fifteen. LOL. They already may suspect something, and you keep reassuring them. I am sure you will handle it, without any effort. You already are by asking for advice. Let the decision be yours, and be comfortable with it. Love yourself, like you love others.

This subject brings up in my memory a news story somewhere around the seventies. Someone in NY won a lottery or received an inheritance or something similar. He went to the top of some skyscraper and started throwing it off. He created havoc down below. Police put a stop to it. Can anyone research this in NY times. Be interesting to find out details.

just curious- i ate dinner with him in his dads little spartan trailer back around 1970. if he is the gb guy then i've had the honor of eating with both him and don adams, the newest prez (you all may approach and touch the hem of my garment).

by hawkaw inas of 6:02 pm last night i received a facsimile from paul hoeffel at the un on the wts.. he gave me 3 of the 4 things i requested in two paragraphs.. i have sent a scanned version to steve bates and someone else.. i sent it to kent and randy.
and kent and randy have posted the official united nations letter on their web sites.. here is the letter - put your cursor on the image and then right click on your mouse and hit "save image" to your computer.. .
after you look at kent's web site and you people still think this it is a fake letter, phone paul hoeffel yourself at (212) 963-8070.. hawk

I would like to add to my comment above after sleeping on this subject.
Proverbs 18:17 reads, The first to plead his case seems just,
:Until another comes and examines him.The Watchtower first pleaded their case with the UN and became associates with them.
In the second place the posters on this board have exposed their association with the UN and also all the derogatory publications that have portrayed the UN as a disgusting thing that will endure the wrath of God.
Now the lawyer, Philip Brumley , who certainly must be familiar with pleading cases, claims , it seems, that he is the examiner regarding MacHislopp’s letter and the subject of the UN. involvement.
I believe the subject of first and second examiners needs to be examined further.
If anyone has access to WT publications, could they look up quotations in the publications where the above texts are used and post any interesting uses of these text in regard to the above references in Mr. Brumley.s letter.

I agree with Hilary Step and no doubt it is obvious to you. You have posted his reply, he knows now where you are and maybe who you are.
He has discerned whether you are a loyal JW. If you try and string him along, he will have the high ground.I looked up the texts he cited, if these three are the best evidence to justify their UN involvement they are standing on shaky ground.

How Do We Respond to the WTS on the UN?
by hawkaw inoh hello, just little old me.. i want to talk about and ask a question about the watchtower's "spin" in the un fiascao.. based on my review of the case, there are 2 "spins" that need to be "counterspinned".. these wts "spins" that deserve responses are:.
1) the watchtower did not keep this un "association" a secret and the leaders were not hiding anything.. 2) the watchtower used this "association" to help promote its educational and voluntary work through out the world.
we only considered the support of the un charter in help our brothers get their religious freedom.

What the WT did keep secret was there duplicity with the UN. They wrote supporting articles in the Awake magazine. Usually these articles had the following format. The article would identify the problem, then show what the UN is trying to do to ameliorate the situation, then they would show how much they had failed. Then they would make a brief comment that only God's Kingdom would totally solve the problem. Meanwhile in the WT magazine, they would publish derogatory articles, say that the UN was a disgusting thing, a counterfeit organization, inspired by the Devil himself.
The average JW would consider the WT as the food from the FDS, and would continue to believe the WT had made no change in its agenda.
2) The Watchtower used this "association" to help promote its educational and voluntary work through out the world. We only considered the support of the UN charter in help our brothers get their religious freedom
I am sure the information is available without awarding allegiance to the UN. After all, some 1500 NGOs are promoting UN projects thru out the earth. They could have contacted any NGO on whatever specialty it was promoting and become inundated with information.

most of the pages online on aidafrique is in french - and i would hope some of the french-speaking participants on the board could tell us a bit more about this organization.. they work, as i understand, in africa and in viet nam, and i would like to find some information about how much moeny is involved, what projects they are/hav been into, in what connection with the un, and so on.. on this page, http://www.chez.com/labible/articles/rwanda.htm it seems to be pictures og un busses, but as i said - i don't read french.
i would like to know what's said here, though.. .

I'm working with you on this one. I understand what the article said, but my French is very rusty and is Quebec French. You said you didn't understand what the article said, and I was nervous that someone, not you, would post some inappropriate post with derision, just using it to hammer the WT.
My point is: recognize appropriately the tragedy. Later, just as the Red Cross got in hot water over the trade center disaster, we can check out all the facts, and hidden motives if they are there.
If doctors, health workers and relief workers are conscientiously doing their work on humanitarian grounds that is commendable. If the WT is getting mileage on their work and they are only bringing relief only to their own, their work is still commendable, but they will get bad press if their motives are proven with facts to be questionable.
Just as on the UN threads, we need a credible translation and then verifiable facts to show exactly what they are doing.

PS. If a JW woman gave a public talk such as you posted. I would go and listen and applaud her, and then stand between her and the judicial committee coming to get her.
