Scriptures for project on WT Emphasis changes?

hello all.. i'd appreciate any feedback on this one.

please email me (at [email protected]) any scriptures that come to mind that could illustrate the change in wt emphasis from the more benign russelism through to the strict legalism of today.. thanks!.

You have posted some interesting statistics. How did you arrive at the statistic that the WT only use 20% of all texts in the Bible?

I have often thought that is would be a good project using the scriptural indexes of all publications to find out what parts are used the most by the WT and what scriptures are left out completely and those in between how often are they used. Also it would be interesting to find out which texts they apply to Jehovah's Witnesses and which texts they never apply to themselves.

How much of All Scripture are they using, with the following text in mind?

2Ti 3:16 All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness;
2Ti 3:17 so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.

Are ALL criticisms of the Society justified?

let me start by saying that i deplore much of the teachings of the watchtower and am convinced that it is not "the truth.

" either through ignorance, error or deliberate action they have caused great heartache for thousands and unknown heartache for millions.

i have thoroughly disconnected myself from their teachings and would rightly speak out against what i know to be harmful in that organization.

Ever since the expose of child abuse has come out, the Public Relation Loud Speakers(TM) have continued blurting out the above argument.

When I was in the organisation, and also published continually in their writings it was proclaimed unceasingly, How pure and clean is Jehovahs most holy organisation, no crimes, no porn, no divorces , no homosexuality, and no mention whatsoever about any child abuse. None of these people are included within this holy temple organisation.

Now they are using the argument, that child abuse is to be expected. They are now saying that JWs are no different from rest of Satans World(TM)

What is a crime? Encarta dictionary says

1. illegal act: an action prohibited by law, or a failure to act as required by law
2. illegal activity: activity that involves breaking the law

Child abuse is a Crime,

Not reporting suspected Child Abusers to Legal Authorities of the land, is a crime. It is a failure to act as required by, law.

Two crimes are being committed

1. The perpetrators of child abuse are criminals.

2.. Those who fail to act as required by law and report suspected child abusers to the law are criminals.

Clive, baby, I thought the Book says that white hair is a sign of wisdom, when did you miss the boat?

Watch Tower Finances

would anyone like to comment on the following observations?.

the very large majority of the jws that i come into contact with on a regular basis are not wealthy and many have very low incomes, yet they still make substantial contributions to the wbts every month.

because they are firmly lead to believe that it is an organisation that is struggling for its financial survival.. following a recent visit from the c.o.

We have known for a long time that the WT has been playing the stock market. Where have they placed the money. We know that the stock market has taken a big dive. Has the WT lost a lot of money?

Peace and security?

i recently have a stumper in talking to my mother.

she's agreed that she's going to be open minded and hear me out because she's starting to have slight doubts about the organization.

but the one thing she always throws out is that the society said that there would be talks of "peace and security" and that they must be the truth since everyone keeps saying "peace and security".. i'm still learning myself, so i try to do some research.

The WT always say that it is the nations that cry Peace and Security. If you do a study on all the places in the Bible where the phrase peace and security or peace and safety show up, it always talks about the false prophetes and leaders of Israel that make this call.

Can someone remember back to the womb? Some decades ago, Janov, wrote the book called the Primal Scream. People can remember back to the womb.

I have had spontaneous. unsolicited rememberances of of being in the womb.

Can a person have remembrances from before being in his mother's womb?

Look up Ian Stevenson, University of Virginia, he has documented many cases.

Don't go there if you can't if your mind cannot explore all possibilities.

I went to Gilead.

I remember Nathan Homer Knorr, telling us not to keep Watchtower and Awake magazines older that eight years.

I was puzzled by his comments.

Now we know the reasons why, don't we.
