On the fence,
Who told you it is wrong to sit on the fence?
Who built the fence?
Why does the deer and her fawn lie down at the edge of the forest bordering the meadow? If predators or hunters approach from the meadow she can escape quietly into the forest. If her enemies approach from the side of the forest, then she can bound quicly across the meadow.
I was reading about the author Voltaire and his writings about the great Lisbon earthquake 1n 1755. The Catholic church was always hounding him for his apostate writnings and he was forced to escape from one country to another. He always settled down near a border, if they came at him from one side, he escaped to the other side.
I left the Watchtower enclosure, around 1967, and was disfellowshipped in 1973. I chose the way of confrontation, knowing full well what the outcome would finally be.
One of the realizations I became convinced of is and was:
I don't need permission from anyone to BE WHO I AM!

A Surprizing New Book
by metatron inif you want to challenge your deepest notions about human reality, read "the dancing plague" by john waller.. during the middle ages, there are very detailed records of a strange mass mania that erupted amidst the horror of everyday life, back then.
people would start dancing until they passed out or died.
apparently, this also happened in madacascar once.

Metraton,
I believe the same thing shows up on the internet lately, where there is collective laughter. I seem to remember just lately there was an African jovial man that went around in a crowd of people and just by laughing he caused it to spread like contagiously through the whole group.

Hello Not Sure Yet,
You ask: Is there anyone on this forum of that time?
How about before that time? I was in the 1959-60 class of Gilead, at that time at Ithaca, NY and was sent to Pakistan where I remained for a year and a half. That year and a half is the worse time in my life, I do not even want to talk about it even now. Because I was sick, weak and depressed, when the Zone servant (Jones) came after I was there for six months, I told him I could not go out in field service with him. He put a bad report in for me. A few weeks later I received a letter from Nathan Homer Knorr's office, telling to remove myself from the missionary home, and turn in my missionary instruction booklet. I was removed from my congregations position, not even allowed to give talks. I remained in Pakistan for a year after that trying to make it on my own. Gratefully, some friends in my old congregation in Canada loaned me the money to come home.
In 1967, doing my best to pioneer, in an isolated wintery Quebec territory. I reached my limit, all was dark, darK, dark. Then the light came, I was in slavery making bricks for Pharoah's pyramid constructions.
Gradually, quietly, I started to talk to others. As a result a number of others left pioneering or ceased becoming publishers. Because I worked in construction and moved about a lot, the "heavies" , David Splane , circuit servant at the time, among them, had a hard time nailing me down.
I was "marked" ostracized, finally disfellowshipped in fall of 1973, the head committee member while praising to the heavens his wonderful organization . received a comment from me, "yah, you say you sit a queen and will see no evil". The next day he sought me out at my job, and angrily told me, "how dare I malign his organisation by calling it part of Babylon the great.
Around 1991, I went with another ex-JW, the late Don Smith, who persuaded me to accompany him to Atlanta, Georgia, to build to lock up stage, Ray Franz's literature storage and garage.
Send him my regards,

"Millions Now Living Will Never Die" seal
by truthseeker ini thought this deserved it's own thread since some say the society never said stated that "millions now living will never die.".
i inherited a book that was published in 1917 entitled "what pastor russell said his answer to hundreds of questions".
inside the book on the first page is a red seal with the words "millions now living will never die".

TruthSeeker,
A long time ago I found in a small congregation's hall library I found a little book, booklet that had for title Pasteur Russell reply to questions. I never found that book since.
In that booklet(?) was a question addressed to Russell which asked: (paraphrased) 'If you realized that the Watchtower organisation had become a part of Babylon the Great, what would you do?' His answer was to get out of her as fast as he could.
This question was asked after 1914 and before he died. Later under Rutherford it was published that the WT organisation was taken into Babylonish captivity from 1914 to 1918, yet no one got out of her.
Could you look in the book and see if such as question was answered by Russell.

However, it didn't take long for it to get spread through the grapevine so basically he was treated as dfd without any announcement made.
I don't see why a lawyer could not use this situation in the same way. If a person found he was shunned by family or other former friends, that would be an indication that he has been marked or disfellowshiped clandestinely. A couple of lawyer letters to some of the shunners would soon get around to put a stop to such actions.

What response would you give to this JW illustration ?
by troubled mind inmy jw in laws send us these types of emails every once in a while .
never is there any real personal correspondence from them and it irritates me.
i have sent emails back before critiquing the logic of some of their emails.. i will be sending a response to this latest one ,and i would appreciate some ideas .. i know many of you on this forum are so excellant with your words i would enjoy your input .. the first thing that came to my mind after i read the illustration was "i am so glad i am no longer on the endless tread mill of witness logic that has you running forever from scary imaginary spirit beings ".

From what I have read about hounds (or a fox) chasing a rabbit. The rabbit runs, he runs towards another rabbit, and stops near the second one. The hounds catch up, and the second rabbit takes off, and the hounds think it is the original rabbit. The hounds are the ones that get tired, the fresh rabbit gets away, and so does the original hunted rabbit.
The witness scenario the rabbit never gets a chance to rest, he must run until he drops.

I have quickly read the links to his writings, and I was surprised to see that his writings have a good vocabulary, well written. He quotes Jeremiah and 2Corinthians12 and he quotes from a modern version. I checked to see that they are not from the NWT translation.
He still could be on the periphery of the JW organisation.
Many years ago, when I was "congregation servant" I became aware of a regular publisher who heard voices and had some strange ideas. Most in the congregation did not know that. I know of another that used to sit on a sloped house roof and stare into the sun.
Jehovah's Witnesses visit people in prisons.
JWs go to university campuses to "distribute literature." Authorities are reluctant to say which religion is distributing pamphlets.
JWs take children "out in the service"
So I feel that we should continue to watch the results of this story. We should study his writings to see if there is JW vocabulary or any indication of association with other religions. If it is proved later that he had no contact with JWs, well and good.

Claws, venom, sharp teeth and other defensive things.....
by Vachi 8 He Is inanother thing i don't get is how all these animals have these destructive body parts, yet i'm to believe they were going to all be herbivores had a&e not sinned?
i pose this question to my dub aunt and she goes "animals weren't eating each other before the flood but they the ones outside of the ark had to survive some kinda way so they took to eating each other.".
now, this begs a series of questions: if the animals could survive the flood, what was the point of noah collecting all of them in the first place?

I remember somewhere, at Gilead maybe, someone asked Freddie Franz whey sabre tooth tigers had big teeth.
He closed his hand into a fist.
Meaning I gather, that just as a man has a hand and can make it into a fist, so the tiger had big teeth, but that did not mean he necessarily would use them to kill for food.
