There are problems with big bang theory, much biggier than red shift
Still I think one should exercise caution in not jumping on conclusion that just because there are difficulties that it neccessarily proves intelligent design as such
but halton arp's continuing research will forever change the direction of astronomy.
or do our observations of nature show things that a theory says are impossible?
gamow had argued that the stars' temperatures are too low to create elements heavier than helium.

don't get me wrong here.
nor will i deny that there are men and women of science who do not work for money or fame or glory, but rather for "truth", and even for the good of the human race and this planet.. scientists are supposed to be unbiased in their research using the universally accepted "scientific method", being completely objective, and working in the sterile environment of the laboratory, removed from outside contamination and social influence.
they themselves are supposed to approach a subject or investigation with patience and open-mindedness, without prejudice or pre-conceived notions.
In science as anywhere else there's competition. Competition to come to new discoveries before everyone else. But that does that mean science is corrupted. Well, ask yourself how much are scientists really paid. Not helluva lot. If most scientists were corrupted they would be some of the richest people in the world given the amount of knowledge they have.
Instead it is highschool dropouts that make most of money. So bringing science and scientists at the same level as that is really insulting.
this is a question i've been puzzled by ever since my days in the borg.
everywhere i looked i saw tradesmen, cleaner, auto-mechanics here and there some computer technician.
and i do know there are two doctors, one gp and one specialist in the field of drug rehabilitation.. i've heard stories of some being true scholars though.
I'm completing my doctorate in superconductivity, I can't say I'm a scholar yet but I'm getting there hopefully :-)
In my free time I also like learning languages but don't think that makes me a "scholar" in these languages either. As for tennis ... well try me ;-)

the detroit news
'disfellowshipped' jehovah's witnesses speak out against practice.
well this is just a typical story.
and of course being a woman what can you do in a community being saturated with male chauvinism??
Get out!
there is no answer for your question.
if you write to the society, you'll end probably like the swedish brother carl johnsson.
he collected facts about the topic 587 or 607 and sent it to brooklyn.
typical..

balistic ...
Most of so called “worldly” people do have internet but very few dubs (LOL, funny name, if I hadn’t read posts for the last couple of weeks I wouldn’t have a clue who those were)
I'm not sure if they are increasing at the moment, last few years many young ones have joined in. But now that Croatia is stable economically and secure that might change. What I do know is that many feel bewildered and are expecting Armageddon to strike any minute.
They see crup going on in congregations but are interpreting that as the sign of the end. I have to be honest and say that there are still many worm and sincere people in congregations here but these are getting squashed by mighty and powerful ones, that is, elders and ministerial servants, or even “zealous” pioneers. And when CO comes they don’t make it any easier.
Everything is getting so dogmatic and removed from the real life that it is scary.
Nicolau ...
Yes it does
just wondering if anyone has had similar experience.
i could swallow the fact that only men were given main parts at the meeting (i wouldnt want them anyway) but that im humiliated every time i tried to give opinion or make a suggestion, is just beyond me.
in fact if i was even mildly persistent to make them see my point of view id be presented with that woman jezebel analogy.

‘Nevertheless, I do hold [this] against you, that you tolerate that woman Jez´e·bel, who calls herself a prophetess, and she teaches and misleads my slaves to commit fornication and to eat things sacrificed to idols. Revelation 2: 20
In time I’ve come to realize that many of them were undereducated and couldn’t swallow my education (not to mention that it was British too, it is big deal here). Though, they’d never admit it openly. On the other hand, I’ve seen elders’ wives having a ball with congregation decisions. I mean you could tell instantly if some of them didn’t like something it didn’t get done or vice versa. In time I just couldn’t stand it anymore and started going to meetings less and less.
Just wondering if any of you have had or is having the similar experience.
