  i was called for jury duty recently.

  i remember the days when the witnesses avoided this because of not wanting to "judge" people until "new light" made it ok to render this due to caesar.. i noticed a sister from my old cong.

  this afternoon the elders called using a cell phone.

  Workmate invited to Memorial

  a workmate just informed me they have been invited to the kh on april 16th.

  "oh, you're going to the memorial," i say.

  seems a schoolteacher she has known from 2nd grade gave her a personal invite.

  last night as i'm heading through the walkway to exit the subway i saw the strangest thing.

  usually there are two elderly sisters sitting against the wall, magazines propped on their laps.

  sometimes one or the other will gather the strength to pick one up and extend it towards passerby.

  on last night's columbo movie he goes to the suspect's house, knocks on the door, she answers it by saying: "i'm not interested" and closes the door.

  he knocks again and she says: "no, i'm really not interested.".

  wonder what that bit of dialogue was based upon.

  last week at the kingdom hall, my mother was met by an elder who said: "i'm sorry to hear about benext, she found that puzzling then another mournful face who told her they'd help her in any way they could.

  the gossip had gotten around that i no longer "went to my meetings like i should.

  " i've been inactive for a year and haven't been to a meeting for several months.

  this evening i became aware that my name is on the lips of all the loving gossipers at my former place of worship.

  i need to be vague at this point but someone let the cat out of the bag about some personal information they had learned about me.
