They still leave pamphlets for me with key pages and passages noted and little notes about being "so close to the end",
Save all of these and then 20 years from now show them to your parents and ask them why the end hasn't come yet.
my sister was probably one of the most loyal witnesses out there.
all her responses were pulled right from the watchtower thinking, "sorry you feel that way, but i believe jehovah's witnesses are god's people.
" well in time we came to an agreement, "you do not bring up your negative thoughts on the religion, and i will not try to get you to come back to the religion.

hello all, i haven't been here in forever!
i just had to vent.
sometimes we think we are past the healing process; that our lives can go on like everybody else.
Just remind them of their attitude when they want to borrow money.
i have a female friend who i've been discussing the religion with.
she definitely has doubts about the org but isn't sure on leaving just yet as she has still got about 6 months to go being a minor dependent on the parents.
lately, she's been getting heavy pressure to start pioneering.
That's easy. She just needs to tell them she's having female problems like chronic bleeding and they will shut up real fast.
i was thinking how unnatural it is for most people to knock on stranger's doors and tell them that if they don't respond to what they were trying to get across, that they were going to be killed by god.
.....then there's the obligation to join the theocratic ministry school and go on a platform and give talks---even if you had a phobia!
.....or you're made to feel that you must answer at the meetings even if you're extremely shy.....are there other things that you can think of that made you totally uncomfortable?
Stop dating pioneer sister I was really interested in because I wasn't baptised yet. Funny thing is I knew more about JW teaching than she did.
Field Service - man did I hate that. I would start getting nervouse days before we went.
I never did shun disfellowshipped ones or stop associating with my "worldly" friends.
I didn't mind the TMS. I'm a great public speaker and still give presentation on career day at the local high school.
july km confirms that this is the next book for consideration at bookstudies starting next year.
Sounds like they are wanting to "toot their own horn" again. That book is full of how the Watchtower Society fullfills just about every prophecy in the bible.
I remember studying that book in the early 90's and even then we had to disregard some page because of "new light".
Maybe this will wake some people up and let them see that the Watchtower has no clue what they are talking about.
they just had the convetion here in west virginia and it seemed like every evening they were interviewing the witnesses on the news.
what really blew my mind is that on the last day they interviewed a brother that said that "there was no need for advanced education since the end was so near".. i was really suprised they made this statement on camera.
i know they've been cracking down on a college education lately, but this is the first time i ever heard them say it on the local news.. btw: my wife isn't very popular with my jw family since she is working on her master's degree in nursing.

tonight i had a call from one of my daughters (16) who is not a jw.
she wanted to borrow some money.
so she could go and attend a funeral.
When I got married I had not been to a meeting in over 5 years. I was marrying a "worldly" girl that my family really liked. We planned the wedding outside because I knew my family would not step foot in a church. Well a few days before the wedding I got a call from my mother telling my that she and my sister would not be attending my wedding. They said if they attended that it would be condoning me marrying a "worldly" person. Needless to say I was very upset.
But yet they have never had a problem coming to visit and staying the weekend with us or even borrowing money from us. Just seems very hypocritical to me.
thanks for all of the kind words and advice, i appreciate it greatly and will look to use some of it.
a special thank you to both cal and vitty for their pm's which gave me a different perspective to look from.. so the p.o.
meets with us in one of the back rooms and my wife starts to speak.
I have doubts and questions..we all do, but see this thing right here(pointing at his head/brain) it is a blessing and a curse. Information is powerful, too much information can kill you! Spiritually that is".
WOW!!! He is actually telling not to think. Just follow along and be happy.
Any knowledge, good or bad is a great thing. It's how we make decisions in our life. It's what make us who we are.
did something say something like that po who said`cats represent the beast' so you shouldn't stroke them'
I remember a brother giving a talk about music and said that we shouldn't listen to "Stone Temple Pilots".
I thought WTF!!. This guy has never listened to them and has no idea what kind of songs they sing. I think he was just going by the name.
I also had a brother tell me I couldn't play a certain video game because the a group in the game was named the "Dark Angels". He said that me they we demons. Yet this brother loved the music group Santana and I had to point out to him that they had a song title "Black Magic Woman". He never did get rid of the album.
day 1. .
day 2. .
day 3. .
SIDE NOTE: These attendants in the main foyer look ridiculous - they are walking up and down holding "Quiet Please" and "Keep Moving" signs.
Man, I remember these guys. I got a real laugh out of them back in the day. I can't believe they still do this.
Oh yeah, thanks for the notes.
My mom and sister are going this weekend to their convertion. I think I'll go mountain biking
