i was talking to two sisters at the door. i told them i had a real problem with the blood issue. i told them that each person should have the choice to do what they must in any given situation. and that they should not be d'fed if they chose blood. they said not all are d'fed, that sometimes under pressure they take the blood. they are forgiven though because they are sorry they took it. i said well then, they should be allowed to take it then. they said, no, you must not think that way, you should oppose and not give in. in other words, lie to the brothers and sisters that you will not take blood, but do take blood under pressure, then repent. that is the only way you cannot be disfellowshipped....i dont know if i am making sense here, but it seems to me, the society sets people up to lie to themselves and to others.

DAMNED CONSCIENCE:JW Hypocrites Who Take Blood Products
by steve2 inthe blood letters by r jensen made riveting reading.
thank you to the posters who advised about the availability of these letters: a lone elders attempts to elicit some sense from the rigidly nonsensical watchtower's pick-and-choose blood transfusion doctrine.
the guy was probably doomed from the start, but i so admire his persistence and courage!

What JW's are saying regarding the downsizing at Bethel
by jimbob ini haven't posted anything for a while on jwd due to being busy with work and school, but this email was to much of a crack up not to post.
this was sent to my wife today from her old jw friend.
she forwarded it to me and i'm posting it with her permission.

The jw's will look at this as a 'winding down of the preaching work'. And they probably look at the number of people leaving as a 'sifting of gods people'. So, oh yes, they will see this as a huge sign.

Water fasting is beneficial for body and spirit
by greendawn inright now i am doing a water fast (just drinking water, no food), and for a few days more.
surprisingly after 48 hours i am not feeling weak or cranky, instead i feel revitalised and relaxed, free from moods and disruptive emotions.
some doctors say it's a great way to detoxify but it is more its ability of clarifying up the spirit that motivates me.

THE NEWS IS BIGGER THAN DATELINE, BBC, CBC, ETC.
by AndersonsInfo inif i told you that something bigger is on the horizon than dateline, bbc, cbc, sunday (australia), and all other tv programs which exposed the sexual child abuse cover-up by watchtower in 2002-2003, would you believe me?
have i ever misled you?
i'll answer that--no!

good morning everyone, i just had to add my 2 cents worth here. i have been watching this post since it started. very interesting. i wonder if it has something to do with mr. hughes. was he able to sue successfully the wt? and is it because they uncovered the fact that prominent brothers and sisters have taken the blood themselves? ...that would explain 'been duped' lied to...etc
take care all...i will wait patiently for the news...

Had a major illness disappear after leaving WT?
by by grace ini'm looking for people who have had the experience of becoming very sick with chronic pain, an auto-immune disease, or some major health problem (collitus, diabetes, etc.
) while being involved with jehovah's witnesses, who then had a complete reversal after leaving the jehovah's witnesses.. i am planning to write a book about my experience, and i'd like to get an idea of how many people out there have had a similar one.
i was diagnosed with advanced grave's disease (hyperthyroid), which is an auto-immune disease, and it amazingly "went away" shortly after i left the organization.

Elder-speak....How do they manipulate us?
by jgnat incan you help me build a glossary of elder-speak?
you know, those phrases and arguments designed to appease, coerce, or guilt congregation members in to a desired course.
by exposing elder-speak, i hope to reduce the power of the words.

hello there
when I questioned an elder about the blood issue I was told that I needed to attend more meetings, do more personal study and get out in service.
when I told this same elder that I was not happy and on the verge of leaving the organization, he told me I needed to attend more meetings, do more personal study and get out in service more.
There just didnt seem to be any truth left in the 'troof' anymore. I walked.

ohhhh blondie..that is so funny, I was one of those...'what a great talk' and then remember maybe 1 point. Or sometimes, when everyone was saying what a great talk, I would just go along. There was no bloody way you could critizise a brother for giving a bad talk. Oh I remember the days of pretending to be so 'happy'...not.....lol
I am so glad I can be honest with those around me and with myself...
