LOL!!! Excellent!!! That was perfect ... along the lines that I intend to use when the time comes. So far they have been leaving me alone ... however, it will come to a confrontation with the un-Godly followers of a man-made-religion at some point. Mine will be a letter of Dissociation ... not Disfellowshipping. Berean (can't be an apostate against a man-made religion ... only against God (Jehovah) himself)

Sleep trouble - any tips??
by Super_Becka inargh, i'm a little on the frustrated side right now, so i'm looking for some help.. i'm usually quite good at getting lots of sleep, i'm usually in bed at a decent hour in the night and can usually get between 7 and 9 hours of sleep a night (more on the weekends, of course), but for the last week or so, i've been having some trouble sleeping.
a scattered night of sleeplessness can be expected from time to time, but it's been about 10 days now, that's a little excessive.
i do all of my usual things during the day - classes, homework, chores, cooking, cleaning, errands - and i never nap during the day, i avoid all forms of caffeine after 5pm, and i always go to bed feeling like it's time for me to go to sleep, i'm usually tired at bedtime, but lately, it's been taking me forever to get to sleep.

First, see a doctor.
I had problems like not enough rest, waking myself up snoring, headaches, etc. I was diagonsed with sleep apnea and use a machine at night to put pressure in my mouth and nose.

What has hurt you the most for being a JW?
Lets see being a Corporate loyalist for several years, toeing the line, doing everything right and then being lied about and slandered by a Suck up (who admittedly read apostate literature at one time and then lied later that he didn't; that took a job that was a supervisors job and that kept him from 37% of the meetings; while I quit three jobs that kept me from the meetings - and took a pay cut to do so) that wanted to take over the control of the congregation.
Then the CO and DO buying into the "Corporate Suck up's" lies and slander. Also having two fellow "Loving" elders in another congregation buy into the "lies and slander" and repeating them to the CO and DO; although, the elders in my congregation (and six others in that congregation) didn't agree with the "lies and slander" they kept their mouths shut because they were scared $hitless.
Then, after I called everyone to task about the whole matter (the lies and slander), all said that my attitude showed that "something" must be wrong. Yes, there was something wrong, I realized just how corrupt everything was.
All this led me to look into why the WTBS would behave in a more - corrupt and worldly manner than any "Worldly" Corporation that I have ever worked for.
Since I left the "Spirit Directed Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses" I have advanced in my career and am happier than ever.
What a bunch of LIARS! What a bunch of SLANDERERS! HYPOCRITES!
Good riddance.

For former elders: Did having the authority to DF make you feel powerful?

I never felt powerfull, only sadness. Usually the person did something against Bible principles. To me that is sad. Disfellowshiping wasn't something that I personally agreed with, however, to be a "Jehovahs' Witness" you needed to follow their rules - man made or Bible based. I never personally was involved in a disfellowshipping over the "man-made-rules". The only disfellowshippings that I was in on, the person was unfaithful to their marriage partener, wouldn't stop having sex outside of marriage, etc. All against moral principles of the majority of religions. I did know about people being disfellowshipped for what I consider to be man-made-rules, and openly condemmed it. I was considered a renegade for my thoughts and falsely accused. The coverup of slander and false accusations led to my exit. Berean (out and happier than ever)

by upside/down ini just had a "sister" leave our house... she was getting her hair done, by my wife.... she is married to a demoted-elder and is very r&f... her poor hubby has been on the receiving end of so much abuse from the borg... and they "don't understand it".. i've been sowing seeds of "new light" with her from jwd and even though their sitch just keeps getting worse and worse and her hubby just keeps getting more and more depressed... she actuall laid on me today the old " but where else can we go?
only the wts has the truth".. i thought i was going to puke.... she even laid out the old " don't forsake the gathering of yourselves"...proof we need to be at the meetings.
even though she admits that that is where the source of all the abuse eminates.

by in a new york bethel minute inhaha i hope this doesn't come across as mean or jerky or libelous... but i can totally see defd becoming apostate... he posts here a lot which means he reads even more.
to me it's just a matter of "seeing it when you're ready to"... kind of like those 3d art things that were popular in the mid-90's... it's invisible until you make deep focus and at the same time blur your eyes to what you would normally see.

One thing that you proved is that the “Society” doesn’t have a set standard for all it’s “peons”, it has sliding standards according to whatever suits its immediate interests at the time, and whatever will save face for the moment. I am not saying you are a bad person, only that you are not following the “Society”. In my opinion, you are not following the Godless men. GOOD!
Rest assured, they will get you in the end … it is only a matter of time.
