Richie,
Just don't meet with them! You are in charge of what you do. Remember, they do not control what meetings you go to, including theirs.
Do not dissociate yourself. Doing that will limit what you can do in a legal court of law. Force them to make a move. They may be guilty of slander by discussing you, and what they accuse you of doing. You evidently are a minor according to the law of the land; you have the upper hand at this time.
If you do pursue them legally, do so on an individual level (at the elder himself). As long as you do not pursue the WBTS, they will have a hands off policy in matters concerning the local elders – in other words, they will not lift a hand in support of the local elders. In fact, they may send some sort of letter, counseling the local body of elders, in order to set up a defense in case you go after them legally. The Society will let the local elders take the financial blow if the Society itself is not implicated in any lawsuit. Remember, the WBTS will protect their finances at all costs; as will any other worldly corporate entity.
Do not admit anything, do not say anything, take notes (recording of the meeting if you have a recorder) if you do decide to attend their “WBTS court of law”.
I hope the best for you.

They Tell The Elders One Thing And The Others Something Else!
by minimus inthe organization is so deceitful that they will tell the watchtower readers that the elders should deal mercifully with wrongdoers but in private letters or correspondence thru the circuit overseers, they will tell the elders not to allow "leaven" within their midst.
they say it's better to disfellowship and see whether someone's truly repentant afterwards rather than taking a chance to contaminate the congregation.......another example of their being two-faced is that they will tell the brotherhood not to buy homes, cars, vacations, etc.
unnecessarily as it could signal materialism, yet the watchtower society spends more money on real estate than we could ever possibly imagine but it's ok for them..........can you think of other things that show that the organization is hypocritical??

One of the things that bothered me the most as an elder, was reading one thing in the Watchtower and then being instructed to do something else during meetings with the CO and DO, and letters from the Society. One time, I simply restated what came down from the Society in a letter to the BOE, word for word, and the congregation thought I was being harsh and going against the GB instructions a previous Watchtower article. The letter was a “clarification to elders” concerning the very same article!
The GB would come across as being “SO LOVING” in the publications, and then the verbal instructions (or through letters to the BOE) would come through saying “COME DOWN HARD ON THE R&F”. The elders looked like the bad guys while the GB looked like the nice “Christian Men”!
I noticed that some posted about the elders saying do “more” and not doing “more” themselves. My question is, do you realize just how much time an elder spends, if he is doing what he is supposed to, in uncountable time as an elder? Unless you are given money to live on, so that you can spend the majority of your time on “Christian” activities, you do not have much time to make a living, AND pioneer, AND be an elder.
A few did it, I do not know how.
I also keep seeing posts here about elders with a lot of material possessions; I didn’t notice that being the rule. Most elders were of modest means – just like the majority of the publishers (that includes the pioneers that are just publishers with a title). -

Had a great meal, watched TV, and drink massive quantities of vodka.
OK, I just like saying "massive quantities of vodka!" I had some ... not enough to brag about. Uh ... by the way, does vodka count as wine on Memorial? -

How to reply to the inevitable invitation to Memorial this year...
by nsrn ini'm anticipating a series of visitis from the witnesses to invite me to memorial.
every year i get a few with the preprinted invitation, a couple slightly old magazines, and big smiles.
these are people who i grew up with, who were kind to me, who honestly think my fade out will cost my eternal soul at the big a. these are the same people who pick up my elderly parents for meetings, bring them food when they are sick, and change their rusted out water heater for them in the dead of winter.

Say "No thanks".
Then close the door. You don't owe anyone an explanation.
If they come back ... just close the door. Once again, you don't owe anyone an explanation. -

Hotel Discounts, at conventions. Oh how we fooled ourselves!
by free2beme ini honestly thought, when i was a witness, that there was a special discount at hotels when i went to them at conventions.
not just a simple special that can be given to anyone, but rather an extra special discount that was negotiated with the watchtower society.
well that is not the case, i used to work in the hotel industry for a short while and we did conventions for everyone from religious organizations to clubs.

I knew a brother that used his corporate discount, at the same hotel/motel that the rest uf us stayed and got a much cheaper rate.
Some of the cult wanted to get him in trouble with the CO and DO, I always said he was smarter than the rest of us - those of us paying rates that anyone could get.
The only reason the Borg wanted the "Children of the Dirt" to go along, was to get the free rooms that came with the "block" of rooms, that went to the Borg speakers and deserving ones (poor pioneers). -

My cat is a freak!
by Scully inwe adopted an abandoned kitten almost a year ago.
at the time, she was just a little ball of fluff and my youngest found her caught in the hedge near the house.
she couldn't have been more than 5 weeks old at the time.. she's recently gotten into the habit of chewing plastic.

This is amazing, one of my cats likes to lick and chew plastic. All this time I thought she was a freak of nature.
It worries me that she might swallow some of the plastic and get “plugged up.” -

Can you be disfellowshipped for missing the Memorial ?
by google_mE in.
have you ever heard of a jw being disfellowshipped for missing the memorial on purpose ?.
just curious.. -me
-
Berean
I agree with AudeSapere. If a person misses on purpose, it is nothing for elders to take action on. Only if the person expounds on why they missed, and it does not agree with the dogma of the cult would action be taken against them.

I'm not saying that I don't believe you ... that it was not said. Just saying, I don't believe that is a widespread thought among elders.
If you thought I didn’t believe you, I apologize. -

“you may not like to hear what an elder has said, or it may be easier to call him an oddball, but he isn't, he is mainstream around here. jws really believe they have the right to do things like this.”
I would like nothing better than to hear an elder say something like that. I think that many JW’s think that, but, not elders as a whole. Most elders know that once a person dies, that ends any judicial committee action. That is not something that is “mainstream” anywhere that I have been. -
